Would they be able to put out some reassurance/update on whether it’s going to happen and cause of the delay or at least get the Cloob to put out some communique?
Everyone wants it to happen asap. It will happen. All the way along there have been delays because of a variety of issues, but I'm not sure if issuing statements with predictions of timescale would have been worthwhile, because they would ALL have been wrong. That would only ramp up the pressure. The only time a date was mentioned was on 18th May when they expected it all to be sorted by the end of the next week. I doubt they'd want to make that mistake again. They're certainly not delaying things deliberately, to get a lower price or anything like that. If it's true that more documents need to be produced then it could be that they are waiting for banks, or institutions, to produce them.

Not exactly a punchline but hopefully not an omen either but it took the new Norman 'owners' of England 20 years to complete their takeover .... from 1066 and the decisive battle at Hastings to 1086 when the due diligence was completed with the Domesday Book of England's assets compiled and signed off.
That sounds better too “takeover abandoned as no complete version of the Domesday book of Charlton’s assets could be found. Only existing copy has several Expenditure pages obfuscated by what appears to be lipstick”
Hmmm, maybe there were no rules forbidding multiple ownership of manors until the Hundred Years War several centuries later!

If it wasn't our Charlton then did he install a member of his family at the Charlton (Greenwich) manor and could that have been his wife? Was there a Catherine de Meire who married William Fitzoger in Normandy sometime around 1050?
I'm off work today so this could run and run - it beats waiting for the inevitable disappointment of another day of no takeover news!

The tenant-in-chief was Bishop Odo. Now it's Roland Odd. Bishop Odo of Bayeux never visited either.
The Lord of the Manor was William, son of Oger. Now it's Tony Ogre.
Back then Charlton was worth £7. Now it's feck all.
BTW, it's a bit weird that William, son of Oger held only three properties, Footscray, our Charlton and another Charlton down near Dover.
