Notts County one point above the L2 relegation places

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38492139

Just sacked John Sheridan after 9 consecutive defeats, and facing relegation out of the football league for the first time in their history! Shocking for such an old club, and shows what can happen when a club is run badly...

They've been run badly for a while now. Remember when their fraudulent owners got Sol Campbell and Kasper Schmeichel to play for them for one game? (A defeat to Morecambe!)

Sven-Goran Eriksson managed them as well. One of football's biggest mercenaries.

Jacko was one of their big signings as well, dropping down from Colchester in the champ iirc

Nottingham has room for only one League club and Forest is the main contender .. Forest never had really big attendances even in their pomp .. it now seems that the East Midlands 'floating voter fan' opts for Leicester or Derby

He was playing in that game! Would make for a good chapter in his no-holds-barred autobiography tbh

Sheridan always seems to do well initially and then things seem to fall apart.

A bit like extra time in the 1987 playoff final replay, he scored that excellent free kick...then it all fell apart for Leeds

their recent big mistake was sacking Sean Derry far too prematurely, although I would imagine as a manager he is a hard man to manage ((:>) .. he's now doing the biz at Cambridge United

That'll teach him for wiping ten years off my life at St Andrews

    Exactly what I thought.

Kevin Nolan is the new boss. Started with a 0-0 draw, which follows TEN consecutive defeats. Indeed their first point since the 29th October!

11,328 at the derby game against Mansfield, which is pretty impressive.

They drop into the bottom 2 though...
