He should not have played Valley Floyd Road as his first disc, mind you not sure RD would know whit that sounds like. :-)

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the man is a prick.

I think that's a fair and valid comment, and one which I would like to heartily endorse :+1:

It wasn't from 'Stayen Christmas knees up party vol 3' which was the problem because All Roland's favourites are on that.

I still can't get my head round this perverse notion of a football match being this wonderful occasion in which to socialise with your mates first, achieve success on the pitch second. All this crap about complexes and business parks as well. If he's that into to all this shit why can't he just go out and buy the latest Sim City and sit at home in front of a computer and fulfill his weirdo fantasies that way

The other thing is if it's such a social occasion and treasured time with the mates, then why doesn't he come down to the valley and share a hot chocolate with Sue Perks before a game? I'm sure the 6000 odd fans that remain will be very pleased to socialise with him and have a beer with him

These types of ideas can only come from non-footballing people.

It's a great example of why these people are so bad for us. They say they want the best for the club, but they don't actually comprehend what that is. Only football people understand.

So Peter Luts - a Belgian dance remixer/producer/DJ - claims that Roland booked him for a set at STTV after a match. Very quickly Roland informs Luts that he's doing his job wrong because people are not dancing. By the second album/set a member of staff rudely asks Luts to stop immediately as Roland is clearly fed up with the lack of dancing.

Adds an interesting light to the garage music in Crossbars doesn't it?

Edit: Teaches me to read this thread back to front, @The_President has already covered it. ;)

Apparently, some well known DJ, Peter Luts, was booked in to do a gig after the match at Stayen only for his FB comments after to read....

"This I have never experienced in my 25 year career .. STVV booked me for one set after the match to normal an hour. After literally one plate Mr. Duchatelet is telling me that my job in his opinion, did not do well because people were not dancing, whatever, in my view seems difficult after one plate. I mentioned to him that this was my first record and that his people have made me the music for which I stand .. On my 2nd album, I'm on a very disrespectful and tactless manner by someone from his staff urged to stop immediately because I would have answered incorrectly, according to him Mr. Duchatelet which was not true?!?! For me this is a loss of face and sorry for the people who wanted to see me and did not get the chance. Mr. Duchatelet you may have a lot of money, but you've obviously never heard of tact and some form of politeness."

Thats blown his chances of a Network Gig in The Covered End lounge........

The translation I read used the word plate, which I read as platter or disc. Basically the guy got up, played one banging house tune and was told to eff off because no one was up on the dance floorZ first track in an hour long set.

Wet myself thinking of this scenario. :)

The DJ should considered himself honoured to be lectured by the polymath that lectured Chrissy Powell on left backs and football formations. Perhaps Roland might wish to take his prodigious talents and revitalise the Belgian pop music scene.

Oh come on chaps, dancing is the main reason these people had turned up in the first place, isn't it?

No doubt Uncle Roland gave the fella the benefit of his wisdom. "Trust me son, whack the Birdie Song on". What's he supposed to do if the mug dj won't listen to him?

I'm really surprised a 70-year-old egomaniac did not like the music being played. Next time suggests he gets a Plastic Bertrand tribute act to do the job.

Meanwhile, what's the EFL doing about teams that are patently uncompetitive - and in our case, a team where the owner even states that competition is not the priority? It's utterly bizarre that they're prepared to fine the likes of Luton (and Millwall?) over the teams they put out in the Checkatrade trophy, on the basis of not fielding a competitive side (despite Luton's success!), yet quite clearly our owner can execute an entire business model which does not prioritise competition.. and remain entirely untouched.

Beat me to it with that thought Lucky Reds. If they were fined £15000 for one game, we must be due about 150 times that for the past 3 years (£2, 250,000?) of being an uncompetitive club.

Richard Murrays mates with this bloke.

    That's embarrassing .

That first sentence is an insult to all St Truiden fans. "ST is not an ambitious club, more a social club". Why would you turn up to watch a team that doesn't want to do better?

If you want to dance, you go to a nightclub or music festival...or just play tunes in your front living room.

The most soulless game of football....where the team doesn't even have the courage to put it on the line and actually be seriously competitive. They don't even want to try.

    In one word.

    It's pathetic.

Ask the 5k CAFC fans (or whatever it is) who go to the Valley every other week.

It doesn't matter if your never achieve your aims - you have to always want to do better. To have aspiration. That is if you are a Sunday league side or a Premiership side. Football is a competetive sport as well as a social activity. If you don't understand that, you are an idiot. Oh, it makes sense now!

Before last Christmas I was phoned by the club and asked why I hadn't renewed my season ticket. The reasons I gave was, I felt the club was having me over, they had no ambition, the owner shows no interest etc.
Nice to hear that straight from the Network El Presidenti
