Rupert Murdoch

Subject to regulatory approval Rupert Murdoch is set to take over Sky TV for £11.7bn (already currently owns 37%) - thus giving him control of paid TV in the UK, Germany and Italy.

As well as this he owns Fox TV and all of it's subsidiaries (through which he plans to take over Sky), News Corp (The Sun, The Times, seemingly every Newspaper in Australia, TalkSport, Wallstreet Journal etc.), Dow Jones and Harper Collins publishers - this is not an exhaustive list.

This man's companies have been accused of: Phone Hacking (including Millie Dowler), bribery and a string of controversial tweets - Once again this short list is in no way exhaustive.

The control this man has over world media seemingly knows no bounds and he looks set to take an even greater control over what we see/hear/read.

Should the regulators once again put a stop to Murdoch taking over Sky TV? Does it really matter?
