I know that Chris Powell was made aware of Driesen's interview (see below) by the SLP on 28 September in which he denied having a major say on transfers, team selection and tactics. I wonder how much that contributed to Jimmy's pieces (both the interview and the content of emails)?

Why should any manager have to have players they know nothing about? They completely miss the point.
46min50sec - the idea that Duchatelet interfered with team matters described as "out of reality". A minute later puts this type of rumour down to "ex-employees.. that may be saying certain things for certain reasons".

Interesting to hear some people going on the record about some of the stuff that has been strongly rumoured to have gone on.
It's always very helpful to have some firm evidence when you are trying to convince people of your case for the prosecution.
Personally, I am more interested to hear what has gone on since Slade was appointed. I hope the podcast covers this and has some eye witness accounts to go with it. As much as the early tenure stuff is damning, it;s since Slade has come in that they've really been trying to push the "learnt from our mistakes, changed our ways narrative". What's gone on more recently is the most relevant to what the future may hold, and superficially, in player recruitment and managerial appointments at least, there has been some evidence that things have changed a bit. Someone like C'OL being at the club maybe hints that all is still not 100% well too.
What comes out of the second episode in particular, for me, is what terrible managers of people this lot are, quite aside from their poor football accumen. There is talk that some of their behaviour would be alright outside of football, but it sounds almost like some of these players were bundled into the back of a car and then thrown out at the West Stand car park entrance while the vehicle was still moving. If, out of the blue, we had a new employee turn up here at our little 12 person environmental consulting office, that no one here had previously met or heard of, then I'm not sure how well they or we would be able to work with each other, especially if they were very young and also had never been to this country before. It's a crap way to treat anyone, not just football people.
That utter lack of understanding for how humans work has come to the surface time and time again in their botched attempts at PR and public statements.
I wasn't sure what to expect of this. Having had the chance to listen to it, I have got to tip my hat to Jimmy Stone. In the modern age when every clown thinks he is a journalist, it's easy to ignore just how much professional skill, time, care and obviously expense has gone into this. It's also taken considerable courage, because Jimmy looks to make a professional career in the game, at least in sport. Hopefully, it will get him a gig in sport radio, he deserves it.
Yes we can say we have heard "most of this" before. But where else has it been so meticulously packaged up and presented so professionally? Even the Voice has only been able to do it bit by bit. The most damning thing - and Jimmy's ace card - has been his ability to get a host of professionals to speak to him on record. Hopefully we have people working to get this the media exposure his work deserves (I will try and help with Belgium if asked, I am sure they will love the emails there)

Part one was brilliant as I really did not know how bad things were. Part 2 I wanted to punch my hand through my IPad! The shit Powell had to put up with no wonder we were in a mess.

Wasn't it Luzon who said that in part 2 he couldn't sign a player unless Driesen approved? Judging by the efforts Slade reportedly had to go to to get Crofts, it seems that may still be the default.

Literally speaking, RD didn't pick the team. But he did tell Powell the 11 he should play and the formation.
When Powell refused to comply he was sacked.
So maybe a truer statement would be,
"Yes it is true that I have suggested who should play and in what formation and if the manager does not do as I suggest, I sack them."

I quite like Karl Robinson's enthusiasm and apparent respect for the club and it's place in the football world. I can understand the desire to support him and get behind the team - but anyone who thinks the regime are worthy of any support whatsoever are living in cloud cuckoo land.
We must get them out. They are a stain on English football and on the great name of Charlton Athletic.
The club may give the final nod to the manager on recruitment, but that it seems is only on the two or three players they've offered up in the first place. It still only amounts to Hobson's choice.

As the roster is churned twice-yearly, the coaches daily face the precipice and valued admin staff walk the plank, how many decent folks have been needlessly lost before we really got to know them, and they us. Once the best of clubs, just wantonly turned inside out.

Nothing surprises me anymore aside from the ever increasing effort of the supporters of our great club have gone to, exposing the horrendous lies and twisted wishes of a truly sick ownership. A bit funny considering the impression from every single interview in the first part was about how brilliant Powell was with the players, and how well he dealt with the initial period under Duchatelet when he had random players appearing.
I can appreciate people having different opinions to mine, unlike some, but I can't respect anyone who wants to assassinate the character of a good man to further credence for their (potentially ill informed) point of view.
