He made the odd mistake but nothing that has made us look in danger of conceding. Pearce: 6.5 Solid. Foley: 6 Probably our worst player on the night but he did stop a certain goal. Crofts: 7.5 Much better from him tonight. Jackson: 7 Looked decent but came up with yet another goal so an extra point for that. Holmes: 8.5 Unplayable at times. Absolute nightmare to deal with. In the end the only way to deal with him was to start kicking him. He meant his second Magennis: 7 Created a couple of chances out of nothing. His pace, power and work rate was very impressive. A good player at this level. Ajose: 6 He just needs a goal and they will start to flow. He missed a sitter which he REALLY should have put in. I'm confident he'll get around 20 odd for us.

Pearce: 6.5 - Shrewsbury offered little going forward but he played solidly throughout. Foley: 5 - First time seeing him play, thought he looked really poor when on the ball, doesn't look like he knows where to pass unless it's backwards. A lot of mistakes. Crofts: 6.5 - Similar story to Foley in terms of lacking any creative spark. Didn't give the ball away as much and so was solid in that respect but lacks imagination. Few good tackles though. Jackson: 6.5 - Good energy in the midfield which put him in place for the goal. If we don't bring anyone else in would like to see him and Crofts start on the weekend in the centre. Holmes: 8.5 - Fantastic performance. Energy, pace, skill and effort; real quality exemplified in his first goal - top signing. Magennis: 8.5 - Again another top signing, going to be a real asset in this league. Like Holmes he really puts himself about, but with the added advantage of being an absolute tank. Brilliant in the air - could work very well with Lookman. Ajose: 5 - Muscled out of the game, was very anonymous until he missed the sitter late on. Need to see him with the ball at his feet running at defenders, but until we get some creativity in the middle of the park he's going to struggle. Can't hold the ball up.

Pearce: 7 not troubled by much, pretty slow though Foley: 6 still think he's the weak link, but had a couple of marauding runs and had a fierce shot deflect wide Crofts: 7.5 looks much better now, passing forwards more and looking to link up play, but also breaking things up well Jackson: 7.5 will score another half a dozen goals this season, so influential even if he can't bomb around the pitch, has more time and space in this league and it means he can pick passes Holmes: 9 great first goal, sure he meant the corner too, gets nobbled a lot though we'll need to protect him as much as we can Magennis: 8 will win the hearts of the Valley Faithful with lung busting runs, unlucky not to score the one on one, it was a great save in the end. I thought he offered nothing on Saturday... He then popped up with a goal which ultimately got us a much needed point. You are right. He definitely needs a 'Dale Stephens' next to him so that he can play the 'Danny Hollands' typed role.

Fox: 7.5 getting better and better, seemed to be a quicker too, don't know if league 1 players are all slower or his positioning had improved. Idiot behind me still called him a useless c*** at every opportunity, even when Foley pulled out of a challenge, it was Fox's fault
Konsa: 7 great couple of blocks and challenges, let's the ball bounce occasionally though, maybe too relaxed at times?
Pearce: 7 not troubled by much, pretty slow though
Foley: 6 still think he's the weak link, but had a couple of marauding runs and had a fierce shot deflect wide
Crofts: 7.5 looks much better now, passing forwards more and looking to link up play, but also breaking things up well
Jackson: 7.5 will score another half a dozen goals this season, so influential even if he can't bomb around the pitch, has more time and space in this league and it means he can pick passes
Holmes: 9 great first goal, sure he meant the corner too, gets nobbled a lot though we'll need to protect him as much as we can
Magennis: 8 will win the hearts of the Valley Faithful with lung busting runs, unlucky not to score the one on one, it was a great save in the end. Throw is a useful weapon too
Ajose: 6.5 trying too hard and things aren't working out for him at the moment, ball just won't drop. The miss near the end would have been tucked away if it was mid way through the season or when he was bang on form for Swindon. He'll score soon though and hopefully open the floodgates
Solly 6 distribution not up to his usual standard tonight

Konza 7 showed he can mixit tonight. Outstanding for his age but still a lot to learn.
Pearce 7 looked very dependable tonight

Crofts 7 lots of important tackles and moved the ball a bit quicker tonight.
Jackson 7 still an attacking threat
Holmes 8 sparked us into life. Can see now why he was targeted by Northampton on Saturday. Hope he stays fit with the treament he is likely to get this season.
Magennis 7.5 really made a nuisance of himself tonight. Unlucky not to score, deserved it.
Ajose 6 nothing really came off for him tonight but the goals will come.

Jackson: 7 - extra mark for the goal and starting the move for his goal too getting the ball out wide
Holmes: 9 MOM - the difference between the two teams, vital he stays fit and is looked after
Magennis: 8 - really bullied the Shrewsbury defence, looks like we may have replaced Kermorgant at last
Ajose: 6 - not helped by the lack of creativity in midfield, service was far better suited for Magennis tonight
I thought he offered nothing on Saturday... He then popped up with a goal which ultimately got us a much needed point. You are right. He definitely needs a 'Dale Stephens' next to him so that he can play the 'Danny Hollands' typed role.
