Hmmmmm. A vastly over-generous offer of £38m considering the current state of the club. It makes no sense that Duchatelet would insist that Murray should remain as chairman after he sold. I reckon Duchatelet couldn't push Murray under the bus fast enough for that sort of money.

It could be they have some sort of signed agreement that if Murray hasn't recouped his money he stays on as a board member/chairman of the board/President/bloke who lives on the couch, etc.
I forget why but I got the impression that Murray may be part of the Elliot consortium, guess I'm wrong on that (and I have no inside knowledge, just something I gathered on here).

I completely understand he's trying to recoup a huge chunk of money he has loaned the club. You don't get to be as wealthy as him by writing off the odd 7 million here and there.
So in which case I would be fuming at Duchatelet for how he has gone about things. I can speak honestly and say I was against Duchatelet from the start but I know the vast majority were more optimistic so I imagine Richard was too. Now at the point where to even the most moronic could see selling and releasing more senior staff than you recruit is asking, begging for trouble. Why did he not use his place as Katrien Mieres warden to, for his monies sake if not the fans, to knock some sense into her or grandpapa fritzel? I would have done

The £7m isn't all owed to Murray. That's the total owed to several previous directors (I forget who). I just don't see why it should get Murray a seat on the board forever. It's a debt - not a contract of employment!

Totally agree and I will readily admit I don't know specifics about the financials but my point remains. If I was him I'd have been spitting teeth and jumping all over Duchatelet and his witch to do things properly as opposed to being her left hand patsy for all the good it's done him.
He's now dirty which is a shame given how well thought of he was for his association with the good times

I can't believe this is true. No way £38m would be put on the table (far too much) and the only way there would be such a clause regarding Murray being chairman would be if the new owners wanted him to be chairman or if he was part of the take over.

Their is no reason Roly wouldn't have signed that quicker than Usain Bolt running for Gold, but the Paul Elliott Group know that Richard Murray is Persona non Grata with CAFC fans now and have gone from Hero to Zero.
The tragedy is that the man CAFC supporters owes so much to in the past, for bringing us Light, is the man who is now keeping us in the Dark.

The biggest an most obvious stumbling block to any meaningful development seems to be pretty obvious, and that is the behaviour not of Richard Murray (which might be bad enough), but the behaviour of Latrine Merde. I also do not believe Latrien communicates the whole picture to Roland because she is (understandably) threatened by any sale. Latrien is the filter that does not clarify, but chite stirs.
