One of the best charlton games i have ever seen, if anyone has got the full version of this game, i am the young lad standing up with both hands in the air with my dad and me mate, think it was just after mendonca scores. If only the modern day charlton could perform under such circumstances like that today!

Having Sky +'d this and kept the recording, I watched it again tonight. Dear God we had some fighters in that team. Robbo, Millsy, Stuart, Kins, Sir Chris to name but five. Then on comes one of my all time favourite unsung Charlton heroes - Brownie and makes a blinding save immediately. Oh for a team with the passion and desire that they showed and credit to Curbs for getting focussed and determined performances out of them. When you think that the team went up the following season minus Mills (and the injured Sir Clive and Pringle for much of the season), we had the building blocks then of what came after. Where are the Robbos and the Kinsella's of this team. We've got the Ambrose and Thomas who, with all their ability, just haven't got the tough do or die spirit of their predecessors.

Great, great day...... was treated by my friend who has a print business in Birmingham to my family including my two sons who were 11 at the time (twins) to a corporate jolly up......

Villa put on a good day, met John Gregory who was really decent to the lads and let them into the Villa dressing room before kickoff.....

great game and the goal by mills was one of the best moments I have had a s a supporter, they were gutted, including all the dutch villa supporters behind us!

My mate was a City supporter and loved Villa being stuffed as well. probably pushed it a bit jumping up and shouting for Charlton amid Villa diehards but could not help it!. this and the arsenal away was the highlight of away matches for me......

I loved it, what a day

got the train up early doors, went bowling before hand, had 8 stellas in the alley.
Got soaked, cried my eyes out at the end, cried again on the train surrounded by Villa fans
Had a fight on the way home on the train (handbags only mind)
Straight to the auctioneer in Greenwich met the bird, got her to pleasure me in an alley way down the side of the pub, she has a cast on her right arm, hahaha

And the best thing is I can still hear Barry Davies screaming "danny mills!"

    what a day

    My memories are
    1. Getting completely drenched as we were to the far right of the Charlton support where there wasn't any cover.
    2. My mate taking his shirt off and waving it above his head after Mills goal. His wife told him off!
    3. The way lots of Villa fans clapped us out of the ground - so different from Birmingham City.
    4. Robbo and his celebations. He was a star.

I remember watching Soccer Saturday and kept hearing we scored, they scored and eventually us winning the game. Always remember the commentry from watching the highlights, '...and Danny Mills! Wonderful! A goal in the 90th minute!"

This would have been my number 1 away game of alltime.....unfortunately it ended in casualty at Greenwich Hospital.

Started very very early at Euston. Was in the Cap & Gown and seem to recall Russian dancing whilst smashing tumblers. The bouncers closed the door and left us to it.

Oakster & Charlton Charlie were very badly behaved.

The game was ok up until our first goal, went loopy, tried to get on the pitch, slipped and ruptured my crutiate ligament. Although, I was so pissed at the time I didn't realise how bad it was.

Cap & Gown was closed afterwards.....funny that.

Was in agony trying to walk back to Aston station. A couple of Villa fans took pity on me and gave me a couple of joints on the train. Pain relief was quality!.

By the time we got back to Euston we had cleared out the bar on the train and were drinking £20.00 bottles of red wine. I myself couldn't walk at all and was wheeled out of Euston by Razil, on a luggage trolley. Everyone thought it was the laugh of the century when Razil turned the trolley round and sent me hurtling towards an incoming train!!!! Was saved by a station porter.

Chucked in a cab to Greenwich Hospital......finally discharged at 2.30am, agony, massive hangover, then girlfriend fuming....who do I bump into stumbling home from extended drinking in Greenwich? Razil, Oakster & JP....sympathy my arse.

    Great days...

Another one marked - great days following Charlton away.

In the end though it was the hope that killed us. But what I'd give for anyone of those players who gave everything now.

To be honest though, I'd rather have the hope being dashed at the last minute, than the months of doom and gloom from all quarters we had this season.

When Mills scored, and we had all calmed down, i looked behind and noticed that our seats were wrecked.

Went back to Hooters in the city centre for a well earned beer.

definately my favourite ever charlton match, only one coming close to it for me would be the cup comeback at highfield road. loved the 'we dont need viagra to stay up' touch too

If you watch the video,it actually catches Brighty's chest before going in, surprised he never claimed it.

I remember nearly crashing the car on M25 when the fourth goal went in, and again at full time.

Best Away Day I've been to, including the Wembley Play-Off Final. Possibly the best day ever home or away.

Yes I had forgotten about the rain! remember watching it on the right hand  side of the stadium, and pouring off the roof like a waterfall!........
Oh for days like these.......as posters have stated that team had spirit, and did not know when they were beat!

15 years this week. One to remember despite the eventual outcome.

    Real heroes, all of them.

Remember the rain, we were 2-3 rows from the front and got a right soaking, met up with the wife's cousin and her chap (Villa fans) definately one of the highlights of that season along with Derby away.

I was in Dixons in Bluewater when Mills scored along with about 20 other Addicks who all started hugging the fit store manager and going absolutely mental in the middle of the shop - amongst the DVD players, TV's with big backs to them, and other late 90's electrical goods.
