The Old Times

As a new member looking at all these old comments about local football certainly brings back memories,I certainly remember valley celtic sunday afternoons at Charlton Park, several hundred spectators. At some stage I played against Wally Peart,Larry Tait,Junior Crooks,Harry Richardson (my god what a handful, but a gentleman)The park standard then was probably about conference level now, with som truly fine players(many who were playing senior football on saturdays) Look at the level now,and the vacant pitches around our parks.I did actually play against Ray Hutchins junior about 20 years ago in a vets match nr.Maidstone, still as elegant as ever,as I recall, never could understand why he didnt reach the top level.h well happy days, back to watching Charlton.
