RIP....Everton were some team during the mid-80's.....a bit of a coincidence one of the answers on last nights Mastermind was Howard Kendell...the contestent had the history of Everton FC as his specialist subject, I managed to get two right answers.

    Great player too.

Robbed of a chance to go for the European Cup by Heysel.

Everton's most successful manager. Led a great team there in the 80s and an excellent player as well.

    Rest in Peace

Very sad. Remember him as a manager when I just started following late 80s/early 90s. I have an Everton mate who said he was a massive drinker. Sad when that contributes (if it did). RIP

part of Everton's Holy Trinity, the school of science .. Harvey Ball and Kendall .. both ball and Kendall died quite young .. Kendall should have been England manager .. R I P

A great manager for Everton. He was also very popular with Atletico Bilbao supporters as a result of his two years managing them; indeed, we had a pre-match drink at 'Bar Howard Kendall' by the San Mamés a few years ago. RIP

RIP. When I was very young (lol) I remember him being the youngest player ever to appear in a cup final. 1964. And now he's passed on. Sad.

Terrific player. At that time we had some great wing halves. Billy Bonds, Mike Bailey, John Hollins, Alan Mullery, Howard Kendall and Nobby Stiles. RIP.

Very sad news. R.I.P. A great player and manager as others have rightly said.

Howard Kendall, Alan Ball and Colin Harvey.
The midfield triumvirate for Everton, who won the league and were all leaders.
Sad to see Colin Harvey in tears during the minute's applause.
Alan Ball died of a heart attack at 61 when trying to put out a fire in his garden,
just a couple of years after his wife Lesley died of cancer at 57.
Howard Kendall has died at 69, not only the youngest player to play at Wembley
in a cup final at that time,(1964 for Preston) but a manager who lost his chance In the European Cup after Heysel.

    RIP Howard Kendall.
