Debris found from missing Malaysian Airlines plane?

Possible first evidence of a wing and luggage being washed up on Reunion Island

Bearing in mind there are no other 777's unaccounted for, this should be easy to verify. You would expect that more debris would start to wash up in the coming weeks and months.

Will potentially give some kind of closure to the families.....but can't see how it will help the search for the wreckage too much?!?

Surely it will give them a more specific area to continue the search for any other wreckage?

The debris has been carried by currents since last March......not sure how good tidal flow prediction is - but not that good I'd wager?!?

The items have washed up 6000km from where they were/are looking for the plane wreck.

CNN report estimated that the ocean current - or gyre - that would have taken wreckage to Reunion would have meant the pieces moving about 10 miles a day, which apparently is entirely plausible. Probably gives them more of a corridor to work with, presuming what has turned up is from MH370, but still could be months rather than days or weeks.

On the radio last night when the story was breaking someone said that to end up on that island with the currents, it would of come from somewhere below the equator and to the east so all pointing to that fateful flight

Conspiracy theory #1. They are transporting this item, believed to be from a Boeing crash, over 9,000km to have it analysed. The city they are taking it to just happens to be the home of Boeing's biggest rivals, Airbus. Hmmm.

They are expecting more debris to start washing up on the island and also Madagascar in the coming weeks.

Guessing the main debris field will be miles underwater which will make it almost impossible to find.
