The 200 Club

Jacko has been stuck on 198 competitive appearances for us since about February or March. Two more will bring him up to the 200 obviously. I'm wracking my brains to find out who the last Charlton player to reach 200 appearances for the club was. Must be a while back. I reckon it could possibly be Chris Powell. But I stand to be corrected on that.

If you're including cup games, then it will be Matt Holland I think.

I would have thought that John Fortune made 200 appearances and he was probably the last player to play for us that did so as he was involved, briefly, in League 1.
  • Options
My mistake he only played for us 181 times.
  • Options
JJ only needs 2 more goals to get to 50 for us as well I believe

    Semedo must of been close?

    Semedo 151.

Think it was Holland & Powell, the last two.

Solly is on 162 so isn't too far away.

So is it Keily then ? He joined after Powell so presumably reached 200 after him ?

I think Powell got his in his 2nd or 3rd spell.

I'm pretty sure Kish got to 200 total appearances and he left at the end of 2006-2007 season the year we were relegated from the Prem.

The question is therefore whether or not anybody has passed 200 appearances since then.

I'd say Chris Powell would have got there before then as he was not a regular towards the end of his time so Matt Holland is probably the most recent I'd say if it is not Kish.

Again, Matt Holland played 191 league games. If you include cup games it goes beyond 200. 215 to be exact.

That has to count, any competitive (I.e non friendly) should be the criteria.

    Do sub appearances count ?

If he played 215 then Holland would have hit 200 later than Kish.

Kish is the most recent Charlton player to have played 200 matches in total whilst the club were in the top flight I reckon.

Could Piotr Parzyszek become the first Charlton player to fail to complete 90 minutes in a Charlton shirt and the team completes 200 matches whilst he has a Charlton contract?

Do his appearances outweigh his forward pass stats?

I would never have said Minto played that many for us - really suprised me that.

Somehow appropriate that Garry Nelson made a double nelson of appearances.

Robert Lee 343 games. When a young player hung around for a while before seeking fame and fortune. And I'l be surprised if Gomez, Poyet, Jenkinson and Shelvey play as many PL games and get as many caps as Lee. Maybe Gomez (hopefully).

    There's a lesson there somewhere.

Yes, close Len, 187 with 66 goals. Len Glover was even closer with 196.
