  • I've been before. Summer 2013.

We were driving down to a place called Mojacar in the South (anyone been?) and stayed in Lloret for a couple of days on the way.

There were some great bars around the "lanes", and genuinely great Spanish restaurants that are very rustique.

I had a good time it was a lovely place but if you're after a piss-up, then to be honest I'd have a look at the Mojacar place I mentioned. A place called Maui is a mental beach bar in the day which is a truly hilarious piss-up. Great clubs at night too. Very very Spanish though.
  • Went there when I was about six, all I remember was a big shelf about fifteen feet out to sea where the sand dropped about four feet. No good for splashing around when you are six...

    Come to Albufeira.
  • I went there on School journey circa 1983/4 from Eltham Green.

It was boring as hell......the best part was going past Tossa de Mar (snigger) on the way there.

It has probably changed a bit in 30 odd years since though
  • Got friends who live there. Used to run the funky monkey which has sadly been sold. He now works in rob roys.
Great for a piss up. Fenals is the better beach. Avoid gran casino hotel. It's known locally as mini beruit. The other HTop hotels and the samba are fine for getting your head down on a beano holiday. They do all inclusive deals which at around a tenner a night more expensive was a no brainer. Didn't always use the all inclusive but was handy to fall back on.

Going back in June for the forth time now, Shame your bar is not still open.
  • Went there for a football tour in secondary school. Think Tallis do it every year with their football teams. Had a good time but not sure what it's like drinking wise.

    In 1974 if that helps?

You will find us in One 4 the Road, drop me a PM nearer the time if you fancy meeting for a beer - or taking part in one of my quizzes...
  • I gatecrashed a liverpool uni tour there one summer and got the coach from Liverpool! After 24 hours boozing on it we fell out of the coach in Lloret. It was a $hithole but very good for a pi$$ up. We went as a footy team and didnt kick one ball in 3 days. I would say there are better places for a stag do but you cant go wrong if you want a load of beers/shots/shlags/fancy dress every night....

...I did enjoy knowing all week that as a non student i had a few extra pennies to get a train to Barcelona and fly back to London instead of getting the coach from hell back to Liverpool!

    Great times ... Team Beef!
  • Anyone know whether the old Routemaster bus is still there at one of the bars, I think it might have been the London Bar?

dont think it's there anymore. Something tells me it used to be at the queen vic, behind Texas. There was a big fairground catapult thing there last time I went.
  • What they've got a Texas DIY place?
  • went there in 1950, quiet little place, might have changed a bit
  • Tossa is nicer than Lloret; Sitges (just south of Barcelona) is much nicer than both - great for a romantic weekend but maybe not for a lads piss up (unless you pull out there)
  • I took a school group of 40 near there in 1999. Trying to keep them away from alcohol was a massive challenge. There are plenty enough bars.
When we went through Tossa that was it. Jokes aplenty, particularly about which staff member came in Tossa most often!
  • if it's anything like it was in the late 80s you'll love it.

stay clear of the Don Juan Hotel, the pillows smelt like sick.
  • Went there about 95, my cousin, who lived in Edinburgh asked us to join him and missus on the flight out of Glasgow next day - we did - thought it would be terrible but very pleasantly surprised, great holiday. Full of northeners
  • Went there on my first lads holiday, must have been mid '90's. 24 hours in a coach then stayed in a tent, wow it was bad. Then back again in 2005 for a stag do with 30 odd blokes.

It is one of the worst places on earth. Gawd awful and there is no way if would ever return as my tastes have become more refined... BUT for a stag do with that many chaps it is probably the right place as you will be allowed into bars etc.

My main memory of the stag do is that it was full of northerners and our all inclusive had chips for breakfast, lunch and dinner and 4 beds wedged into each single room so there were no gaps between them.

We had a couple of quid sweep stake on who would be first to be sick and I picked out the ginger, 6ft 5" rugby playing northerner who said he would piss himself before he was sick...needless to say that night he was dancing on the stage of a night club, pee'd himself and then threw up and I won!
  • Shit hole, great for a stag doo
