Bad support acts

last week me and the good lady went to see a guy called just jack play on brick lane , just jack is a kind of soulful jazzy hip hop kind of thing . We got there early enough to witness the support act who's myspace site I have since found . Possibly the worst support act I have ever witnessed and that includes placebo , made me want to shout out "who told you you were good?"

what made me laugh was all the idiots getting down to it in there , it was like an episode of Nathan Barley.

Anyone else seen anyone really bad?

When we were in Cologne for the World Cup we got tickets to see The Raconteurs.

The support band were a German metal band and they were truly truly awful. Obviously didnt help that it was all in German but even the locals were cringeing.

Geezer, what were the Racontuers like tho?

Didnt think that much of them to be honest. May have been better over here, it was a bit bizarre watching a gig in a different country (apart from Oasis who rock everywhere). Crowd just didnt seem interested and maybe was reflected in the performance.

True, crowds do make a difference. (operation cottage springs to mind now)

Years ago and I mean years I saw the Fall at the fridge in Brixton maybe 13 years ago..... and the support band were "the world of Leather" an 8 piece band in the sort of, just not very good, catergory. So the fall crowd, being made up of nutters on glue and Nazis ,didnt really take a liking to them and before you know it someone started throwing full cans of holsten at the the stageand suddenlt it started raining cans of beer, I think it was when the female basist got one right in the face and the lead singer started kicking out randomly at the members of the audience that they finally got escorted of stage......... Followed by a poet gut who simpley got booed til he stopped reading..... then the Fall came on and the place went flipping crazy....... I ended up ripping the set list of the bass amp before being thrown back into the crowd...good night....double maths the next day was shocking......

was talking to a mate today and he said he went to see Ryan Adams last night and the support band started moaning at the crowd for talking then the bass player started saying "show our singer respect" the drummer then joined in telling hom off and saying "you shouldn't be rude to these people cos they are retards and it's wrong to be rude to retards"

Mate also said that Ryan Adams only crowd involvment in the gig was to start telling everyone how he was ill and had therefore been drinking lots of carrot juice and orange juice to which a woman in the audience shouted "apple!" he then went off on one and said "I was talking how dare you interupt me"

I'd have had to tell him to go forth and multiply if it was me .

So has anyone ever heckled a band/artist to the point it turns into a row ?

Me I had a row with the singer from menswe@r while they were on stage and also got a mention in the guardian for throwing oranges at Keanu Reeves band.

    Quality.

I'm too timid to boo anybody.

I can't remember the names of any bad support acts in particular because I tend to forget them pretty quickly, but the worst ones are crap bands who also bring 50 mates along, crowding out the venue so you can't see beyond their blinkin' mullets. I'm thinking of at least one night in Shoreditch here.

I can only belive that the ones watching this idiot at 93 feet east who were enjoying it must have been his mates as there can be no other reason for enjoying it
