Only sad thing if France at the Finals is the fact you'll probably hear the negative types saying that the bigger nations dont take the Nations League seriously blah blah blah

So if you win your UEFA Nations League (e.g. if Denmark win their playoff matches against the other top teams from League B ) - will you still be playing the European qualifiers? Won't make sense, as you've already qualified.

Nations league play offs are AFTER euro qualifying

Nations League semi finals (or whatever the bit that the teams that won their groups is called) take place after the proper Euro Qualifiers don’t they?

Nope... Denmark now go into Euro 2020 Qualifying as normal; if they finish top two their place in the Play-Offs will be taken by the next best team from the Nations League

If they finish outside the top two they'll go into the Play-Offs thanks to them winning their Group.

Note: Play-Offs for Euro 2020 arent until March 2020

In addition; disregard the mini competition between England / Switzerland / Portugal / One other - Its got nothing to do with Euro 2020 or the Play-Offs... the tournament next summer will purely be to decide the winners of the Nations League

Unless the winner of that doesn’t qualify for the Euro’s which means they get a wild card into the play offs .

Nope. The winner of the summer’s trophy would still have to go through qualifying play offs in March 2020 if they don’t finish top two in the qualifying group.

Belgium must be feeling shell shocked, to lose 5-2 after being 2-0 up

Ok , so we have got a Euro 2020 play off spot even if we lose all our qualifiers (which we won’t do but someone like Belarus/ Georgia could have a shit Euro 2020 qualifier )

We are in a qualifying group of 5 for Euro 2020 where the top 2 qualify ?

What about teams that finish 3rd in Euro 202 qualifying groups is there a best 3rd place finish play off spot for any of them ?

    Any answers appreciated !!

    10 groups. Top 2 qualify.

Then we have play offs to decide the last 4 teams. Play-offs will not be decided based on results from the qualifying group stage.

Instead, 16 teams will be selected based on their performance in the 2018–19 UEFA Nations League. The 16 teams will be divided into four paths, each containing four teams, with each play-off path featuring two single-leg semi-finals, and one single-leg final.

The four play-off path winners will join the 20 teams which have already qualified for UEFA Euro 2020

So we already know that the likes of Finland, Belarus and Georgia who almost certainly will not qualify as a top 2 side from the main qualifiers, will be in the play offs because they won their Nations league.

At the moment only sides I dont see getting top two in their Euro 2020 Qualifying Groups; regardless of who they get are the below... So imagine the likes of the Czech Republic and Austria (if they finish second in the Nations League) being two to fill the Play-Off slots

    Group A: Netherlands | Iceland | Poland
    Group B: Denmark

You don't think Holland will get top 2 in their qualifying group?

Why not, given their recent results and the fact they'll be seeded.

Perhaps someone should explain that to SKY then Because that’s exactly what they said yesterday.

Of those I mentioned, they'll be the side that'll prove me wrong - they're on the way back BUT we still have to remember they didnt qualify for either Euro 2016 (they only needed to finish third on that occasion in what should have been a piece of piss for them) or the 2018 World Cup, are they truly on the way back or are they just a side at the moment that have been able to raise their game for the big matches yet will still struggle against the rest.

Of course they will be seeded which can be found below (they cant finish below Germany so wont be one of the bottom two from Group A not to be seeded) so their task should be a lot easier yet do hope to see them back, their fans have been sorely missed in major tournaments with the colour they bring

Whats ironic is the fact we're one of the top seeds yet going by the below we COULD end up with the following Group:

Germany | Wales | Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland | Scotland

Unless I'm reading it wrong, I'm pretty sure we can't get Germany and Wales. According to that wikipedia page, Germany will be in either Pot 1 or 2, and Wales are definitely in Pot 2. If Germany are in Pot 1 then they are in the same pot as us (we just get a group of 5, whereas Germany would get a group of 6) and if they drop into Pot 2 we would only get one of Germany or Wales.

I am of course assuming that our group will be made up of one team from each of the pots B-E

So if Germany beat Netherlands today; they'll go from one point to four points

That'll leave them level on points with Croatia yet with a better Goal Difference which'll make them seeded

If Germany dont beat Netherlands they'll be in pot two so yeah sorry, we cant get Wales AND Germany

I still have absolutely no idea how the competition works, but it's certainly made friendlies more meaningful. There's been some cracking games to be fair

I watched Netherlands v France on Friday and 2-0 did not do their superiority over the World Champions justice! Lloris was brilliant for France.

Mind you, it looked like Belgium at one point yesterday. Holland need an early second half goal though!
