There was another doc about Northern Soul on BBC4 not long ago, when's it the turn of us Rockabillies?

I shall write in the strongest possible terms...

In the meantime I shall watch and chuckle at the gear.

    ;-)

It because the BBC is based in the north now and all those 70s soul boys are now TV producers.

Meanwhile all the rockabillies are in Portugal : - )

Agree about the gear though. Love the music but those bags and vests (not that my 70s clothes where any better)

Problem with these programs about Northern Soul is they bear no resemblance to the current day scene. They mostly talk about Wigan fucking Casino that closed down in 1981. You get the same idiots everytime there's a Northern Soul zzzz program on tv. Pete waterman lying his balls off about when he went he used to go with his miner mates who used to turn up wearing tutus. Believe me it didn't happen. He ran a club in Coventry in 74 & maybe his frazzled mind is getting mixed up with that?
No doubt they will "highlight" the gear but probably not the (ahem) gear.
Although the bags look naf now in 72 everyone in the south was wearing them & if your buzzing off your tits dancing (with spins & acrobatics thrown in) at an allniter for 8 hours you needed baggy cool (as in airy)clothes.
Anyway tv is for entertainment I guess so ignore the facts, just get a few well known hasbeens to share their recollections....... it's a bit like the 150,000 who were at the Valley in the 7-6 Huddersfield game ;-)

Actually the same generally happens when they have five minutes about the Rockin' scene on anything. That prick Jon Ronson came to a weekender about twenty years ago to make a short doc. My mate who was the organiser hooked his researcher up with us, but when JR turned up the next day we were not the stereotype stuck-in-the-fifties types he had already written his script about, so he had to find people to fit his plan...
