People do find it very strange but I like the piercing shrill noise of that drill tunneling its way through flesh, enamel and sometimes bone, claret and saliva everywhere and your hands gripping the sides of the chair till your knuckles drain white with the loss of circulation, the dentists knee on your chest as he tries to extract a particularly obstinate back molar and the crack as it explodes from your jaw bone...
