  • Well, Surrey were piss poor and got destroyed. We made our own fun by cheering for a nobody, then got into a shoving match with a gobby 18 year old and his mates. Pure class.

    Nothing "super" about Surrey!
  • Is Stewart's position at risk?
  • Is Stewart's position at risk?
    Nope
He is a victim of his own success.
    If
    Roy
Burns and  Curren had been available last night we would have kicked Kent's arse.

    Stewart is a major success.
  • Roy and Curran maybe but burns doesn't look as if he could hit a cows arse with a banjo

Cue burns gets a ton tomorrow

But then had Denly and Billings been available you still would have lost!
  • It's not just about the Blast though - 4 wins in all forms of the game going into August is dreadful

    Morkel
    Plunkett
    Dernbach
    We had plenty missing.

Not that I'm complaining it's nice to help out our little neighbours from time to time.

Give them their annual orgasm, whilst at the end of the season they will still have won fuck all.....again.
  • I have seen Rikki Clarke bat for 6 balls over 2 games, he has missed 4 of those, blocked 1, and got caught off the other.
    Effing useless.
  • Looking a bit more rosy for us possibly in The Blast, this is what i put on the Kent thread...

Looking at the Table, if we do win and get to 14 points, then i suppose its quite possible that both Kent and Surrey *could* qualify - if you beat Gloucs, and Somerset dont win their last one, then its quite a possibility - a slim one, but it is possible.

EDIT: Gloucs have to play Kent and Sussex both away, so its possible for them to drop out, plus Somerset have to play Middx. So its looking a bit more rosier than i thought - however NRR not in our favour.

So, whats the best scenario for tonight ?.....

Obviously we need to beat Essex

Kent to beat Gloucs? (by a lot) as Gloucs then have to play Sussex in last game.

    Middx to beat Somerset

  • Was at the game Tuesday night. Great innings from Finch. Spinners did very well to drag us back into it after they got off to a quick start.

Frustrating how every year it takes us most of the tournament to finally get a settled 11 and start putting results together. Can't all be blamed on injuries and call ups though they have had a significant impact this year.

Scenes in the crowd when someone spotted a ginger bloke and everyone decided he was now Ben Stokes. "shoes off if you love Ben Stokes went on for about 20 mins!" Bald bloke with glasses claiming to be Jack Leach wasn't quite the same!

The reception from the crowd the next time Sir Ben comes out to bat at OT should be something special.
  • Essex 48-3 off 6
  • 83-4 off 11
  • 107-4 off 14
    Batty 4 overs for 15
  • 186-4 off 20
Ravi Bopara of all people smacked us around at the end.

  • Gonna need some chasing.

Saw he played against Kent 2s this week - but only bowled in the first innings. Kent lost narrowly - if you call 575 runs "narrowly" that is!
  • 117-5 off 14
  • So what are Surrey's chances of qualifying now?

If you're serious, they are out.
    They ended next to bottom.
