Jacko was an absolute diamond yesterday,won every header,hardly misplaced a pass,yes he got a bit tired,but really would like to see more of him,especially as our super signings reeves and marshall are doing nothing.Special mention for Jacko in the way he politely requested that Amos might wish to improve his kicking.

I spoke to JJ on the train on the way back from Fleetwood and he was adamant that this is his last season as a player. So in our last home game of the season i would love for him to come on at some point and be given a sendoff that he richly deserve 's
I do find it funny that approaching four years on we're still discussing it, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
On saturday he played well, did he look like a player unable to play in the side against Blackpool in League 1? How many headers did he win, and when he won them he found a red shirt. No wayward passes and he managed to get into the box pretty quickly a couple of times, sadly though the quality of ball into the box was lacking.
He may not have the turn of speed he once had, and he may get caught out at times where once he was able to recover the lost the ball. But on Saturday was a sniff of the old Jacko, with a little less pace and not a lot of experience around him, his footballing brain means he's been able to play on longer than he 'should'. He won't cope with 90 minutes once or twice a week through a season, but once in a while he still can, probably not against teams topping the table who will expose his frailties, but when called upon you know he'll do a job and wear the shirt with pride. I'm surprised he's not been used more, particularly in a sweeper role, at the moment with the lack of players i'd play 4,1(Jacko),4,1 and even the a Kashi etc is back i'd probably pump him on if we need a goal for the last 10 minutes more than any other player at the club.
I remember for a good 18 months people saying Walshie's legs had gone, and to an extent they had, age and injuries took their toll, but we still played him and with Minto he had a willing runner.
No doubt Jacko's numbers nearly up, but on the 28th April 2018 I hope as many people come to the Valley to say goodbye to a real Charlton hero who's stood by us during our best and darkest days over the last 10 years. As supporters we should also do something fitting that day to honour him (I have a few ideas), and at Rochdale away on Sunday 5th May i'll be scrabbling to get on the pitch at the end to loft him up high. Can't think of many players over the past 6 years I could or would want to say that about them........

worth going to the Blackburn game just to watch him lead us out one more time and give him the ovation he deserves.

I think that's the only thing worth breaking a boycott for. The most committed player we've had in years. The only shame is he couldn't have been at his peak when there was a better feeling around the place for longer
One more last minute winner would be nice. His occasional appearances on the scoresheet have been pretty much the only thing I've enjoyed during the Roland era.
Nothing but respect and admiration for the man. He may not hail from the local area, but heck he sure acted like he did. So many wonderful memories but such a shame a lot was not played at a higher level with us and against a dire backdrop at times. He held his head up high for us when he could have easily walked away from the mess but he did not. I will break my boycott to ensure he receives a decent send off. I will miss you JJ.
Top Man and will go down as a Charlton Legend. Deserves a great send off as a player and I hope he is a round under new ownership in some capacity proper Mr Charlton and by god do we need him

Just like every other time we've been on a bad run, he needs to play a part and more than a 5 minute cameo at the end.
Next season is a way away yet, but we need a strong captain next year, Pearce might be that man but not sure.
His cameo still showed his qualities, leadership and organisation skills, as well as his excellent timing into the opposition penalty box.
A true legend I hope will be manager one day soon
