Still owns it surely? Just stepped down from some titular role if I recall.

Alcorcon is the club whose fans we have no contact with. Would be great to know more about their attitude to the Roland regime. Also of course, what he thinks Roland's plan is there. He had a new stand built there, or at least stuck a roof on a stand. Anything on the other side? You know, places where you can sit and watch the game on TV while munching tapas, and the a bit of flamenco after the game?

Duchatelet manages AD Alcorcon through BDO, a leading management consultancy, and the club president is Ignacio Legido, a lawyer specialising in commercial law and compliance. The team play at the Estadio Municipal de Santo Domingo, which is owned by the local municipality.

Rather as he did at the Valley, soon after he took over he removed a number of long-time employees and spent a modest sum on stadium improvements. I suppose this could be part of a strategy whereby he ingratiates himself with fans and manages resistance to any changes he wishes to implement.

I understand Duchatelet has been looking to work with the local Municipality to develop some areas of the stadium, and perhaps acquire a long-term lease if he can.

Can you ask your contact if he knows anything about such plans or intentions?

    @Big in Brasov

Duchatelet manages AD Alcorcon through BDO, a leading management consultancy,

That is a quite remarkable piece of information. Could you expand on that for us? He is still the owner of Alcorcon, via Staprix, is he not? So what exactly is BDO's role? There will be quite a few people on here who will know BDO. What on earth could be their role? Imagine if RD fired KM and then announced that her role would be overtaken by Deloitte...and of course, which business unit pays their fees? Staprix, or the Alcorcon unit directly?

Paying a management consultancy to run a football club. I've heard it all now. This deserves more public airing, I feel.

Ignacio Legido is a partner of BDO Abogados and director of the Legal area of the firm. He has extensive experience in Commercial Law, as well as in Corporate Law, Contractual, Real Estate, Mergers and Acquisitions, he is also President of AD Alcorcon.

As detailed in Mundo Deportivo February 2015 (link below), BDO advised Duchatelet on his acquisition of AD Alcorcon and were then charged with managing the business for him.

Wonder if we have a Spanish speaker, able to give an accurate translation?

All you gotta do is google alcorcon bdo and ignacio legido. He is the BDO man who is now el presidente, the title RD held previously.

Google translate from the club website in Sep 2016:

Two years have passed since the arrival of Roland Duchâtelet to AD Alcorcón. The Belgian entrepreneur landed in our company together with a team of professionals from the multinational BDO with which up to now, has been shaping the progressive professionalization of our entity.

Duchâtelet's numerous professional commitments, which prevented him from representing the Club throughout the season, made our top shareholder offer Ignacio Legido the chairmanship of the potter. Thus, following the Extraordinary General Shareholders' Meeting held on 30 January and the subsequent meeting of the Board of Directors, Ignacio Legido was proclaimed Director and President of AD Alcorcón .

    Legido Castiellla's linkedin:

Partner - National Director Legal Area
    BDO Attorneys and Tax Advisors
    January 2007 - present (10 years 5 months)

    - Specialist in commercial law with wide experience in compliance and M & A
    - Member of the BDO European China Desk representing BDO Spain
    - Member of the Spanish Association of Risk Capital Entities
    - Responsible for the BDO International Legal Services Group
    - Duties of Managing Director in AD Alcorcón of Second Division A of the LFP

    A bit like Meire.

PS: when Fraeye said that, after leaving CAFC the first time, he worked closely with the Alcorcon president to rebuild the playing squad, that would have been before Legido took over formally. Fraeye's main qualification has been reported as being that he speaks Spanish.
