  • Hamer - 6
Solly - 5.5. Poor game by his high standards
    Dervite - 6
    Morro - 6
Wiggins - 6 Started well, got worse.
Green - 4 Very poor game - bad delivery all game long, and should have scored but dithered
    Gower - 5 Overrun
Jacko - 4.5 Anonymous, could have been due to injury
Harriot - 5.5 Not his best game but more of a threat that most
Kermo - 6 At least he was getting in tge right places for the headers
Sordell - 5 Poor. Gets on the last man well and had no service to work off in that respect to be fair to him, but his other play was lacklustre.

Stephens - 5 Never git into it.

Church looked useful and him & Wilson had good energy about them - if we can't put our foot on the ball rather a bit of energy and workrate from Pritchard and Wilson than the toothlessness of Gower and Stephens today. We missed Pritchard imho.
  • Hamer 6 played OK generally but was at fault for the goal
    Solly 6.5
    Wiggins 5
    Morrison 6
Dervite 7.5 best of a poor bunch
Green 5 didn't take his opportunity
Gower 4 v. disappointing and was guilty for the corner
    which led to the goal
    Jackson 5
Harriott 7 created our best chance
    Kermorgant 6 pretty anonymous
Sordell 5 he must be better than that

  • Hamer - 4 - At least partly at fault for their goal
Solly - 6 When Green wasn't trying to take their left back down, Solly handled his side well.
Wiggins - 5 nowhere near his best
    Morrison - 5.5 stopped/blocked a lot of chances
Dervite - 4 Far too physical when it wasn't needed
    Green - 3.5 poor
Gower - 4 At fault for the corner which led to their goal
Jackson - 4 Didn't do much but clearly not fit
Harriott - 5.5 99% of our creativity comes through him
Kermorgant - 6 Battled, better than most
Sordell - 4.5 Not seen much from him yet

Stephens - 4.5 Meh, not much to say either way.
  • Hamer - 5
Solly - 5, well below his usual standard, backing off too much
Wiggins - 5.5, offered a bit more than Solly, but a fair few errors in there
    Morrison - 7, decent enough
Dervite - 8 MOTM, growing as a player
Green - 5.5, stupid corners and free kicks, unlucky not to score, decision making all over the place at times, still offered some threat
Gower - 6, offered more tackling/presence than I've seen before for him, think he does OK but not convinced it's what we need.
Jackson - 4, not fit, had a go.
Harriott - 7, good effort and our best outlet, not to blame.
Kermorgant, 7, always gives his all, not at his most effective though.
Sordell - 3, no effort for long periods, a couple of decent moments, 3's possibly generous.

Stephens - 5.5, changed the game for a brief period when he came on. Still the same old Stephens though.

  • Hamer 6 - Not sure where he was for the goal
Solly 5 - Poor game by his standards
Wiggins 5 - Constantly beaten down the side
    Morrison 5 - Didn't look comfortable
Dervite 7.5 - MOTM - Limited Middlesbrough's chances by closing down, getting tight to strikers. Some poor FKs given away though.
Green 3- George Friend ran rings round him. Solly can't go forward because Green can't be trusted to cover
Gower 4 - Guilty of giving the ball away in dangerous areas
Jackson 5 - Clearly injured so maybe not fair to judge too harshly
Harriott 6 - Had the odd moment where he got past their full backs but no real end product today
Kermorgant 5 - Definitely one of his poorer games, but i suppose service was somewhat limited
Sordell 2 - Didn't look interested at all. I'm not what he contributed at all.

Stephens did well when he came on. Made an instant impact and had that decent header attempt on goal

Church also moved well. Like to see him start. Another week of training should do him some good.

Why didn't powell make subs earlier? It was clear we were on the brink of conceeding and nothing happened.

  • Hamer 3 Seems to spend all game moaning at the back 4, yet has absolutely no idea about when to come off his line to claim, doesn't shout for it and ends up bumbling it up
Solly 6 Given a proper test today
Wiggins 5.5 Done okay, drifted out as the game went on
Morrison 5 Looked like he'd never played alongside his partner today
    Dervite 5 See above
Green 3 Always want him to do well but lost patience with him now. Get rid
Gower 5 Looked like a player who hasn't had a pre-season. Off the boil
Jackson 4 Clearly not fit. Hope we haven't prolonged his injury by putting him back in too soon
Harriott 5 Shackled for most of the game, had a couple of chances late in the 1st half to run with the ball.
Kermorgant 7 Didn't really come off for him today. Was well marshalled by boro defence, but didn't give up and kept them on their toes
Sordell 5 Showed some promising movement early in the game but faded away

Stephens 7 Thought he had a very decent half. Looked to grab the midfield by the scruff of the neck. A few wayward passes, but overall, a decent performance.

  • Hamer - 4 Actually had very little to do, but what he did, he did badly.
Solly - 5 Our full backs are being expected to play farther forward this season, and it has taken Chris out of his comfort zone. Can we go back to a flat back four, Chrissy?
Wiggins- 5.5 Is more comfortable than Solly in this advanced role, but got caught out too many times.
Morro - 5 Not comfortable on the ball, which is a problem if we are going to continue with the slow build up from the back. But did his defensive duties satisfactorily.
Dervite - 6 My MOTM. Was excellent in the 1st half, but had a more difficult 2nd half, as Mowbray changed things around to put him under more pressure. The problem is, Charlton don't have a plan B.
Green - 4 A classic Green performance. Gets his opportunity, fluffs his lines. PLEASE, PLEASE stop trying to score direct from corners!
Jackson -5 Won some tackles in the 1st half, but was limping quite early on. Rushed back too soon after the Bournemouth shambles.
Gower - 5. At fault for the goal, but still the best passer in the side. Unfortunately, once Jacko went off, the game mainly passed him by.
Harriott - 6. At the centre of most of our best attacking threat. Probably wasn't given the ball enough.
Kermogant - 4. Love Yann to bits, but this was his worst performance in a Charlton shirt, not a flick or a pass came off for him the whole match. I know the fans love him, but some of the marks he's been given in this game are ridiculous.
Sordell -5. On another thread I said I thought that Sordell and Yann would struggle working together. He is NOT a target man, and therein lies the problem. Did look lazy on occasion.

Stephens - 4.5. A classic "curate's egg" of a performance. First touch, glides away from 2 opposition players, and plays the ball to Call. Second touch, runs around in circles, and gets dispossessed just outside our penalty area.
Wilson - 5. Didn't have a great deal of time to change things, but did little wrong.
Church - 5. Shouldn't have been dropped in my view. It sends out a bad signal to players if they score 2 goals, and then gets dropped. (Ahem. Joe Piggot, anyone?) Showed a bit of energy, and hassled and harried. I think he is a better option with Yann.
