Team for Burnley

After Saturday's no-show against Forest, CP is faced with some interesting decisions.
For what it's worth, I think he must go 4-4-2 and look to be positive from the outset.
This is my team, with one or two of them seriously playing for their places!

Hamer

Solly
Morrison
Cort
Wiggins

Wilson
Pritchard
Stephens
Jackson

Fuller
Haynes

I'm sure others will have a different view...

4-5-1, but with two Wingers that can push up to give width.

    Wiggins

    Haynes
    Pritchard

I'd normally leave it up to Chris Powell ... but what the heck...

    Taylor
    Wiggins

    Jackson
    Stephens
    Harriott

No way would I have jackson back at left mid. We all know he isn't up to it in that position in this league

I'd be inclined to have a few changes after Saturday, despite that team doing a great job against Leicester. Whoever goes out gets my support, but how about the following

    Button

    Solly
    Morrison
    Cort
    Evina/Wiggins

    Wilson
    Stephens
    Jackson
    Wiggins/Evina

    Fuller
    Haynes

Hamer has been great, but needs a break and possibly a little gee-up, after a couple of major errors. Would like to see Evina & Wiggins together...both can defend and get forward well. Could interchange easily. Wilson back after a dip in form, but I thought he had done well before that.

I'd play a W M formation and stick it up them.

It would be nice to win at home, but just as important not to lose so I would want a midfield who can all defend, wingers who can get forward, and strikers who can score...... and yet still support Charlton, so:-

Button (cost £200k and maybe deserves a chance now)

    Solly
    Wiggins
    Cort
    Morrison

    Waggy (RW)
    Pritchard
    Jackson
    Evina (LW)

    Haynes
    Fuller

I'd give Hamer another chance -

    My team would be:

    Hamer
    Wiggins
    Morro
    Cort
    Solly
    Evina
    Pritchard
    JJ
    Wilson
    Haynes

If we are being brave in dropping Hamer, I would drop Jimmy Floyd Fuller too! Play the new kid or Smith in his place - stick him on the bench!

'I'd give Hamer another chance' -

I think he has been great this season so would not be upset in the slightest if he was picked; and there is a strong argument for not unsettling the CH's by making a change of GK.

Disagree on Wilson over Waggy though. I think Waggy's energy maybe/will be needed in a four man midfield

    Bit unfair on Fuller that!

Let's mix it up a bit and have go.

    Button
    Solly
    Morrison
    Cort
    Wiggins
    Wilson
    Jackson
    Pritchard
    Wagstaff
    Haynes
    Fuller

Plenty of box-to-box energy in midfield - it's pointless us trying to out football teams through the middle so we have to focus on out working them and getting the ball to Haynes and Fuller who are both capable of pulling a rabbit out of a hat.

A clean sheet would be a big boost right now as well.

Doesn't Yann get 7 days to appeal (not that he would), thus making him available for Burnley ?
  • Options
And incur another game ban for a frivolous appeal? Take your medicine and come back fresh for the Millwall.
  • Options
How about a 1-1-8 formation and play the kids.

Assuming we don't address defending deep -
    Hamer
    Solly
    Morro
    DD
    Wiggins
    Waggy
    Wilson
    Pritch
    Harriott
    Haynes
    Fuller
No playmaker just loads of energy and breaking at pace. Smith to get half hour.

It's OK to say "I don't understand the question"

    Wilson
    Pritchard
    Dervite
    Jackson
    Wagstaff

    Fuller

    Subs:

    Button
    Evina
    Taylor
    Stephens
    Haynes
    Obika
    Harriott

My reason for 5 in midfield is simply the fitness (or lack thereof) of Haynes.

If he could do 90 I'd stick him in for Dervite. However as it stands I think he is more effective as an impact sub.
