Advice needed - can't ask the wife

Many many years ago, I met a nice girl in London.
Our careers and my living abroad was a problem, our relationship did not last.
Some years later, I unearthed an old agenda and realized I had her mother's Blackpool phone number. I rang and the person I spoke to said she knew the lady, who had moved, and that
her daughter intended to open a hairdressers' business in Lytham St.Annes.
I took advantage of an away game up north (bad memories, we lost an elderly fan there, heart-attack) to come back via Blackpool and Lytham ST.Annes.
I visited all the hairdressers, no one had ever heard of her.
I would be thrilled to see her again, but the data I have is very meagre: her full name (very common English surname), her birth YEAR and that old phone number in Blackpool.
We'll be playing Blackpool on Oct.6th, I could go there earlier, but what for?
Any suggestions, or is it hopeless?

    So let me get this right. You have a wife but you searched every hairdresser in Blackpool looking for a woman you was once in a relationship with? Sorry but that is just strange!!

    If you feel you can't ask the wife about it, it can only lead to trouble one way or another. Unless your unhappy in your marriage and want to leave. In which case you probably should do so anyway

    went to blackpool for the weekend recently. it's as bad in the summer as it is in the mid-season. she's probably moved away if she has half a braincell.

    Sounds like borderline stalking to me.

    When you find her and she is happily married with 3 kids what are you going to do? Other than take a beating from her husband or get arrested?

    seems like you have gone to a lot of effort to say 'hello'. you dont know if she looks the same, is married or is even alive.

    i could understand if you sat indoors all day with your pants round your ankles, alone, eating pot noodle but your married ffs!

    I'd leave it in the past Adrian. Well dont get you're hopes up as you might miss the coach anyway, if the coach driver doesnt look out his mirror to see any late passengers arriving.

    Rules of what exactly?
    Please, please tell us you are on a wind up! Even if you have to lie!
    And if you are unsure if it is inappropriate, why dont you tell your missus what you have just posted on here, I've a feeling she may point you in the right direction!
