    It used to be 9 or 10 appearances, but I think clubs are given a certain amount of medals, and then allowed to buy more
  • Options
    for some reason i'm thinking 14 appearances
  • Options
    I thought it was 16 a few seasons ago but im probably wrong.
  • Options
    I thought it was 10 for the premier league but what Rothko says about buying more makes sense.

    Doc should get on for his 3 minutes.

    From the rule book of the Football League

    36 Championship Trophies and Medals

    36.1 The Club declared the Champion Club of each Division shall hold the Championship Trophy of that Division until the next Season's League Competition is concluded. When the winners of the trophies shall have been ascertained they shall be handed over to such winners who shall return the same to the Executive on or before 1 May in the following year in like good order and condition, provided always that the winning Club shall, from time to time throughout the year, on request from The League, release the trophy to The League for such purposes as The League shall require. The League shall present to the Championship Club of each Division 23 souvenirs comprising 18 for the Players, one for the chief administrator/club secretary, one for the Manager, one for the Physiotherapist and two for Staff other than Players. It shall be the responsibility of the Club to determine to which of its Players the souvenirs should be presented. Additional souvenirs may be presented with the consent of the Executive.

    Would be a shame if sullivan, euell, doherty, evina and haynes didnt get one to be honest, I would expect anyone who featured this season to get one

    If I ask nicely do you reckon they might get one for me - if I offer to pay?

    Wonder how much an extra medal costs?

    I know what I'm spending all that auction money on now : - )
  • Options
    So if we go by the rule that anyone who played get's a medal, Benno could pick up 2 winners medals in one season!
  • Options
    But what is an appearance?
    For example Doherty made 3 appearances for a total of 17 minutes! Clarke 7 for 188 minutes and Euell 10 for 177 minutes.
    So appearances do not always show what might be expected.

    Me? - I'd give them all medals.

    it's not just about appearances but also being a valued part of the squad
  • Options
    Other factors rather than just the number of appearances.

    For example, you'd have to give a medal to Sully ........a sub keeper has well earned it after having splinters in his arse for each and every League match so far!

    Definitely Sully has deserved a medal!

    Also medals should be awarded on the basis that your name fits:

    Wiggy and Waggy; Euelly, Solly and Sully; Hollo and Morro;
    Stevo and Jacko; Hughesy, Hayesy & Haynesy;
    Or Hamer Cort Taylor, when he missed the cross.

    If you are called Cedric, Bradley, Yanny or Danny (or even Dany),

    Finally one for Rob Elliot for keeping a clean sheet!

    Clarke could two champs medals (us and Swindon)and play-off winners medal (Crawley) plus a wooden spoon from Chesterfield.

    Though I doubt Di Canio would be keen

    Wasn't sure if loan players would get them. I think the club should and probably will apply for some extras to cover the whole squad. They've all played their part.

    2 for other staff - presumably Dyer and Matthews. None for KP. also one for the administrator, presumably Kavanagh but none for the Chairman.

    I don't think loanees should get one

    Even though Dany N'Guessan has scored three important goals?
