Is this one not by The Chuckle Brothers?

  • I love art , I got two boxes stuffed full of Charlton programmes, they should go in the loft really, but can't bear for them to be Out of sight, out of mind.

Seriously would love to have a nice collection of paintings , but never had the finances to do it.

    Good luck to you Shine.

Cheers, I dont drive and rarely drink as I cant paint on a hangover so this is my only vice... well that and collecting Charlton shirts :)

  • I've really got into old sculptures over the past couple of years and have one or two. Garden's a bit too small for them but it saves me cutting the grass around them if nothing else.

  • I see you can only work attachments when you've been on your 'herbal' stuff Henry.
  • That Henry Irving sculpture is near Leicester square isn't it.
  • like that henry

good investment that addickted, worth a wedge if you weighed it in

    Good likeness of you N.

  • You always told me you never looked :-)
  • Only one original abstract by Alan Davie but prints of Jackson Pollock and Ivan Hitchins.
  • I've got a collage by a Bahamian artist called Antonious Roberts who is fairly well known in those parts (I used to live there). It's in the shipping container with my family's stuff which is on it's way to the UK right now.

I've just purchased an original painting by Alan Bean (the 4th man on the moon) who has become a renowned artist. Each of his paintings contains a fraction of moon dust and his motif is an Apollo boot print. I am fascinated by the space program and also have a lot of books and biographies (the best, in my opinion, being Michael Collins').

  • Like art, own art, but don't collect.

@ Shine, the Takishi Murakami should be enjoyed not wrapped up and packed away

@ Kimbo, roughly how many pieces of paper in an average work of art by your friend?
  • Cheers sheffieldred, I only got that one last week so have not got round to framing it yet
  • There's an artist I really like called John Greenwood - like a sort of modern cross between Tanguy and Kay Sage - abstract surrealism. He never seemed to get any respect after a brief bit of exposure from Saatchi's patronage and disappeared off the face of the earth. If I had ten grand to spare I'd commission him to paint me a piece.

Naturally, I also like Kay Sage and Yves Tanguy, and Dali of course. Bosch & Bruegel are fantastic, along with Max Ernst and Joan Miro.

Sadly, all the artists I like are somewhat out of my price range!
  • Not everyones cup of tea but i do like this www.jasoncorbett.co.uk
