He was reported as being very critical of Curbs and his man management when he left. Where was his happiest time in English football? And who, from a distance, does he regard appears to have those man-management skills he regarded so lacking in English football? I'll start him off Nigel Adkins, and if he doesn't know maybe highlight skills Swedish coaches have.
Proper cult hero was big Mathias. Kind of bit crap a times but also capable of some very good play and had a big heart. One of thos players that I always felt was trying to do the right thing when he was on the bal, just didn't always have the skills to put it into action.
Did he realise he was wearing a shirt with his name spelt incorrectly on the back or did someone have to point it out to him?
For some strange reason, in one match I watched Matt running back across the penalty area to line up a for a free kick, or corner or something, can't even remember who we were playing. As he passed a defender he punched him in the kidneys, and carried on unobserved by any official, and probably most of the crowd. Was that something he did as a matter of course, or was it a one off, and if so does he remember it, and can he tell us what provoked it?

Saw him do something similar within 30 seconds of coming on as a sub against Liverpool at the Valley. Cant remember who it was, I think maybe Hyppia. Made me laugh, he didn't even try to be subtle about it.
He also picked up Shola ameobi by the armpit after he smashed him through the advertising hoardings in front of me once. Lot of man love for Sven. My favourite player at the time even though he didn't play much.
Agreed Nicholas. I remember thinking we had found some sort of world class genius after Pringle scored that one where he rang from the halfway line against Wimbledon. We hadn't.

Derby away i think mate.
Did all the Scandanavian players stick together when he was at the club or was there a rivalry?

No Derby away was a different one. He did one at home to wimbledon too on a Monday night when we announced the signing of John Barnes.
The Derby away one was quality - I remember Mark Mansfield on Millenium Radio when he get in behind shouting all of a sudden "PRINGLE'S IN ON GOAL" and then immediately calming himself down "but he's got a long way to go though..." and then erupting again "AND HE'S SCORED!!!!"
Used to sit near the front of the West Stand and I recall Pringle always looked good warming up (well, that's what the wife used to say!).
Back to Svensson, always like the guy - Don't remember him starting many games - I was always hoping Curbs would put him on the pitch, mainly to see which opposition player he nutted first.

Me too, am I imagining it or did a cry of 'screw loose' go up in the covered when he went steaming in or came on as sub?
Met the team in a hotel in Boden, Sweden, on the tour of 2001(?). He was the only player who had any time for the fans who had made the trip out there, so he'll always be a hero in my book.
Regarding his winner against us at Carrow Road, bear in mind this gave Norwich a lifeline similar to the Danny Mills winner at Villa so cut him some slack on that one.
Not sure if it's the sort of thing you'd want to mention to Mr. Svensson but co-incidently I had a meeting with someone today who took on his house after he left Charlton. It was a nice place apparently but shortly after moving in he was surprised to receive an unpaid gas bill for around six thousand pounds. Maybe no-one had ever paid for gas at the place, or maybe the move north from Croydon to the wilds of Kent meant the tough Swede had to keep the heating on the whole time.

Question for Matt , maybe a bit unfair .... Does Matt prefer Charlton or Palace?

Is he still friends with Martin Pringle ?
