Kelly Youga was Guilty of one fo the worst full back displays of ineptitude I have ever seen away to Crystal palace in our relegation from the Championship season.
Wasn't he training with us in the summer? Would have thought he would be put through his paces ala JFortune if he was getting back to form. In Chris we Trust.
"Yeovil Town Football can announce the signing of former Charlton Athletic defender Kelly Youga on a short term deal until the end of the season.
A 6'1" 25-year-old from Bangui, Central African Republic; Kelly had spent the last six years of his career at The Valley although he was released by them last summer."
He had now gone completely bald and polishes his head with Windolene. He became a better player when the dreadlocks went, so perhaps he thinks he'll improve even further and thus get him a better contract next season.
Can't believe he is only 25. Still remember the day he injured himself trying to boot the ball into the next time zone. Bit of a loose cannon but was starting to impress. Hope he does alright with Yeovil.
Good luck to him, was always an absolute beast on fifa and fm, and was our best performing player before he got injured. If the club had then handled the injury better then I am sure he'd be playing for us right now
He always looked a decent attacking full back but always tried to be too clever (flash) bending a pass instead of just playing a simple ball. However the year he got injured he had cut all of that out & looked a very good (at this level) solid player. I hope it works out for him at Yeovil & for those who in the past accused him of taking the piss with his high wages & not playing, Richard Murray & pardew decided he was worth 6/8 grand a week whatever it was & I'm sure that he didn't want to be injured so give the bloke a break eh ?
Wish him good luck, League 1 is his level I think, Certainly would rather Wiggins although would not be surprised to see Youga back in the Championship within 18months, if he can get fit.
To get relegated from the championship that far from safety with the budget that we would have been paying you need a truly awful management team(check) and some truly woefullly bad in fact shocking players (check) and mr youga fitted in to the second bracket comfortably
What a completely disgraceful season that was
Still I'm sure half of them involved are really nice people
Youga was on top form in our first season down in the 3rd division. We'd have been promoted at first try if he hadn't been crocked half way through the season. If he gets his fitness back and can still remember what to do after all this time, he'll do a great job for yeovil.
At only 25, if he can stay fit there is still a chance that he will return to form. It's a shame that it didn't work out for him at Charlton, but I got the distinct impression from something Phil Parkinson said at the clean-up day that Youga thought he was too good for us, or possibly too good to be playing in League 1 - I guess during the time out he's grown up a bit.
Wasn't it Dominic Bilzzard that got Youga with the dreadful challenge that gave him 2 years out of the game. He plays for Yeovil as well. I wonder if Youga is the forgiving type?
BRTD, I think his injury was not the result of a bad tackle but self induced booting the ball into touch but doing it so hard that he injured his ankle.
Was probably our best player in a poor defence that got us relegated, and Scunthorpes best player in a struggling Chamionship side (mainly CB I believe) - all this in his early 20s where experience is important. I think that given a return to fitness he could easily do well at Championship level, and think Yeovill will benefit from him playing.
Youga tried to kick the ball and the opponent had his foot up & Youga booted his foot. I remember it very well because I thought he was feigning injury at the time.
Can not believe this was absolutely toilet for us in the champ. Many Scunthorpe fans who were sooo much better organised than us, with limited resources, say he was very good in the champ for them. But in the champ McCarthy, Boughera and Hudson were much better players at that time. Yes his third of a season in league one he did look very exciting again, and it was a shame to see him injured by what I remember as a high and late challenge. But he was not tested defensively in league one for us, and Bailey did excellent work protecting the left back that season.
Think he hit the post in that Bristol Rovers match, and seemed to hit the post at will that season! Looked like he was going to be really important for us with his quick pacey attacks. Wasn't to be, but I hope he really kicks on with Yeovil and gets a career back.
He had a superb 2nd half away to Yeovil in the rain game...playing at right back I think. Could do a job for them at centre-back too. Think he'll do well providing he can get back some sharpness.
Looked exciting when he came back from Scunny then got dragged down to the generally terrible level of the rest of the team. Lost his way a bit but was never as terrible as some made out but he was still fairly inexperienced. We all thought Hudson was toilet but he is now captain of a strong Cardiff team.
Assuming injury hasn't taken anything away from him he has all the physical attributes to be a good defender. Signs were the rest of his game was improving before he got injured. Think he'll be a good signing for them.

Looked a good (but Wiggins well ahead of him) left back at this level before he got injured. Not Championship standard at the time though.
I associate KY with a bad experience in my life!
But you told me it "would bring us closer together?!"
Good luck to him at Yeovil though.

Clearly not too nice to manage.
