Chesterfield Away

Some questions.

Where will the standing seats be?
Where will the racist singers be sitting?
Where will the booer of opposition wives be sitting?
Is there a park you can piss in on route?

Thanks.

  • Clem have you set the essential criteria for all upcoming away games? ;-0

What about car parking & catering?
  • 2112 away seats plus more if required.

Will these go straight on general sale?
  • Charlton have been allocated 2,000 tickets for the club's trip to Chesterfield on Saturday, February 11th (3pm) - the Addicks' first league visit for 31 years.

Places for the match at The Recreation Ground are due to go on restricted sale on Wednesday, January 11th.

Tickets are priced £18 adults, £12 over 65s and U19s, and £8 U15s. The same prices apply to eight wheelchair places and ambulant disabled tickets (including a free helper).

Tickets will first be available to VIP and Valley Gold season-ticket holders, who can buy one adult and one U18 seat, plus season-ticket holders who have attended four different away games (up to the minimum number of tickets purchased for all four games). This includes the Sheffield Wednesday away match.

From Monday, January 16th, eligibility will be extended to all Valley Gold members and season-ticket holders (up to two tickets apiece) and fans who have purchased places for four different away games (up to the minimum number of tickets purchased for all four games).

Should any places remain, tickets will go on general sale on Thursday, January 19th.
  • Only criticism is they have moved stadiums to the B2Net Stadium and do not play at the Recreation Ground anymore.

On the basis of new ground syndrome I'd say yes restrictions required
I reckon we'll have more at chesterfield than @ wednesday
  • Tickets sorted one more new ground to tick off the list.

Seems to be creating a bit of unnecessary hassle, should just go on general sale

We will not sell 2000 tickets, but if we did you can try the home end as that definitely will not sell out

I have always like Wednesday, my two best mates are swedish and follow them. Am disappointed to hear of problems yesterday, thought they were better than that

  • The best man at my wedding is a Wednesday fan -some of them are ok!

My mate came over for the game and was a tad upset

  • I think we will more at this than yesterday, new ground but also the fact that we will fancy our chances a litle more to get a result. supporting your team through thin and thin should be taken as read but I was very nervous yesterday, not very confident of getting a result so laid low from sharing my fears on here and getting slated for being negative. thankfully I was wrong, I am really looking forward to the Chesterfield game. Word of caution though, there was a report on arrests and convictions a few weeks back and Chesterfield were top of it, when they came to the Valley earlier I was on a train from London Bridge with a sizable BTP escort as they are somewhat suprisingly rated as Cat A so we can expect a similar welcome to the one we got yesterday at Hillsborough...last word on that such a shame they are so anti as a group, Hillsborough is definately my favourite stadium next to the Valley so I want to like Wednesday I really do but Megson...their oiks that always want to fight me and the day we went down and they mocked us all count against them and make yesterday all the sweeter
  • Slatergate was a complete craphole, remembering there in the cup a few years ago. There were rustholes in the side of our stand you could put your fist through. I hope Rotherham can get sorted now and move back out of Don Valley Stadium as they have no atmosphere at all in a 25,000 stadium for athletics. Anyway, new ground and keeping on the promo trail so i'll be there with family, so thats 4 more.

Rotherham's new ground is due to open next season

  • As I have mentioned in a previous discussion, My Daughter lives in Chesterfield, guess where I will be on the 11th, completely aggree with Tte Prince, Saltergate is a complete rust bucket, but nether the less a proper old fashioned ground, very near the centre of town.

The New stadium, looking very similar to a lot of new stadiums, is about a mile out of town just off of the A61 very easy to get to. It is right next to a huge Tescos, I am not sure about parking there on match days though.

Looking forward to the game.... and a few beers in Chesterfield afterwards.
  • Buying the train tickets tomorrow, I'll be unbelivably pissed if it gets postopned or there are train issues!

Link to map of area around the ground: -

Looking at the map if you park in Tescos you will probably be towed away!

  • Going to get mine this afternoon now.
  • How far is the new ground from the station then?
  • 30 mins walk
  • Not bad then. ta.
