Footballers homes - just out of interest.

Thinking of moving out of my cardboard box as, despite the reduction in train services, I still find it hard to sleep under the bridge.
So I thought I might splash out a buy a footballers place - they've got to be decent gaffe's right?

A couple of suprises.

Joey Barton is selling his £1.4 million pad and it looks suprisingly homely and not as 'footballer' (whatever than means) as others..

Awesome kitchen and ''wardrobe''.

Much more modest place for Nicky Barmby, just 575,000, which is within half a mill of my budget.

Very 'clean; cant tell whose face is on the pillow in picture 6.

Ex Southampton defender Francis Benali has just put his custom built house up for sale at 1.9 mill

Loving the swimming pool, but way too sterile for me, though my brother Tony Montana has taken a shine to it

Robin Van Persie's place is very 'footballer' - love the bathroom.

and 1.4 million in Cheshunt is a good investment deal - I'm told!

Van Persie's gaff is in Goff's Oak not scummy Cheshunt! I viewed it recently and it is overpriced.
  • I think Francis Benal has the best house. Barton  has too many rooms.
  • I wonder if RVP will chuck in the FA Cup that's sitting in the corner (pic No9)?

Bartons house is all very nice if it could be picked up and moved down south.

So taking both property and location into account, I'll have Benali's squat if you're buying FM.
  • love how all the gardens have the old school pitch stripes on them!!

  • I also see McOxo is trying to sell his place ..................................

  • When Brian Hughes was with us he had a very nice place on Kings Hill, plus a very nice Villa abroad, and he only really fringed the Premier League.

Blimey - are we in competition to buy the same kind of residence, Paul?

OK lets go halves. As long as you are OK with paying just over half.
Do you think Becks gets as pissed off as I would with TEN pillows on his bed.?
    I mean, TEN??? Pic 7

Tango - the left half of Mc Oxo's was my old place. Great energy performance, no heat loss through the windows. Well no heating at all in fact. Do you like my skylight?

Only if you are looking norf of London!
  • Loving Barmby's "ensuite" bathroom. It's just in the corner of the bedroom! Couldn't he afford a wall?

  • Barmby's en suite is a bit weird as the shower cubicle is in front of the bed - what if your missus is a fat minger? Watching her 'soap up'.............nah!
  • Scottish players get more for their money - £285,000 in Perthshire might suit sweaty Balmer?

Pardon my stupidity but Who's mcOxo?
Arthur Yeast, who played in the late '30's earned his nickname by adding much needed beef to the back 4. He was a tower of strength in the inter-war years. He went on to race stock cars.

I have added this extract for your delectation.

I see he is in the 'ten pillows on the bed' gang!
  • For the dough some of those places don't have very big gardens. I'd want my own field.
  • see, freddy eastwoods drum is up for sale too..

No, his caravan was burnt at Dale Farm!

When we bought our current gaff it was described as a "garden with an attached house". That was 1995 - when I cut the grass last weekend for let's hope the last time this year I decided I'd had enough! I suppose it's okay if you can afford to pay someone to maintain it. Problem is we still have our grown-up kids hanging about, so there's no point in moving just yet. Suppose I'll have to do at least one more yearf of cutting that fecking grass!
  • What's wrong with Ireland's house? The sofa isn't to my taste and funny enough being an adult male I'm don't like the room designed for a young girl.
  • i wonder what sort of place Sir Chris has?
  • Saga - you have grown up kids at home and a grotty job that needs doing? I fail to see the problem...

Its the decorative and furnishings aspect opposed to the design of the actual building, which I thought would have been fairly obvious. So the pink bedroom not to your taste then? :)

Too many other battles being fought!

But you literally have home advantage!
  • My house, my rules!!
  • how orange is stephen ireland!! would hate to live in a house where you have to dress seperatly for each room you are in.
  • Ireland's house isn't that bad.  It's a bit gaudy, but a pair of dimwits in their early 20s with an unlimited budget are probably not going to do their house up to the tastes of a more mature person.  The fish tank is fantastic.  The pool table is a little odd, but maybe it's a patriotic thing rather than him wanting his name on it.
