32 Programmes by Dave Roberts

Unfortunately no Charlton games are included, and I write this as Bromley fan but if fancy reading a decent football book which is a bit different then you might be interested:

I have just finished reading 32 Programmes by Dave Roberts, author of The Bromley Boys. What a book!

Of the 31 programmes he picks to take to America with him, 2 of them
feature Bromley including the FA Cup game at Swindon in the 1970s. The
32nd programme is from the FA Cup game against AFC Hornchurch in 2008. He returns to the UK for the first time in over 20 years and sees his
parents, who have given up any hope of ever seeing him again.

Those of you who have read The Bromley Boys will know that Dave has a very easy writing style and is able to convey the sights, smells and
atmosphere of games he's seen 30 years ago so that you feel like you are
almost sitting alongside him. This book is no different as he takes us
on a nostalgic tour of English football over the decades.

If you only read one book this year then make sure it is this one!
