Shamrock Rovers ko Partizan Belgrade

Blimey.

I never knew anything about the back-story of Shamrock Rovers either, great article on it by Barry Glendenning here, and much a Charlton fan can identify with. And you have to see their first goal...

I've got a mate who is a Partizan die-hard too. He's gone to ground. As a Serb he has suffered with both club and country over the years, but as I know from last week's beers, he didnt see that one coming.

Seems that despite the best efforts of UEFA, some romance is creeping back into European football

  • did you see that volley?

    COYR it was a screamer
  • Been drawn in Spurs' group.
  • It's a great story. Traditionally both Ireland and Serbia/Yugoslavia have exported their best players. It looks as though Serbian clubs are still doing so whereas Ireland is starting to keep a few good ones at home. If Shamrock get to play their home games at the Aviva, the place will be rocking. Love to see a Man U/Shamrock Euro Final
  • corrr anyone seen stokes group, ridiculous away trips on the cards, not gunna be easy, theyve got the hardest draw out of english teams - dynamo kiev, besiktas and macabi tel aviv

  • And sounds like the Spurs game will be played at The Aviva, happy days for everyone.  They get a huge gate and we get a nice pre-Xmas trip to Dublin :-)

Will cost their fans an absolute fortune.

Having said that Spurs are off to Rubin Kazan, 1,000 miles east of Moscow.
