Priciest Charlton game ..

edited March 2011 in General Charlton
After this weekend judging by peoples comments and the Charlton fans I saw stumbling out the ground I wonder how costly a Charlton game has been for you?
Price includes from the time you leave home to the time you get home.
Mine was Saturday; cost me from Sheffield to Bournemouth and everything in between around £160

Now awaits someone to say it's cost them their marriage/relationship.
  • Leeds away when we lost 4-1 in our first Premiership season

Drank a lot, ate a lot and lost my wallet

Bad day apart from the Mortimer wonder goal
  • Left at 8.00 Saturday morning got home about 12.00 on Sunday. Reckon it cost me about £500.
  • Millwall away last year.
No more than £40 cost in financial terms, but the amount of pride lost that day was more than any other I know of.

What did you do, fly there?

Priciest game, I think Chelsea charged us £48 one season!
  • Spurs Away in the Prem - tickets £71 for 3 of us plus travel , food and programme , lost 5-1!

More than once - missed the last two away league games there due to that. Utter p!ss take.

My most expensive probably Newcastle away a few years back - well over £200 gone in that weekend. In Topless "cabaret" bar at midday ahead of 5.15pm kick off with night out to follow = expensive weekend!

  • Coventry, over £100 pretty much just for the ticket and the train. Turned out to be a drab 0-0.
  • stockport away about 15 years ago.
hadn't planned on going, just woke up on the saturday morning and fancied it. went to station and asked for a return to stockport. £120 ish back then. that didn't even get me a seat on the train. spent the entire journey sat on the floor surrounded by west ham fans on their way to bolton.
    got tonked 3-0.
some northern twat blatantly nicked my pint after the game, nearly ended up in a tear up.
    halcyon days.
  • I'm pretty sure mine was Operation Riverside.
  • Anglo Italian Cup all them years ago
  • [cite]Posted By: Mendonca In Asdas[/cite]Spurs Away in the Prem - tickets £71 for 3 of us plus travel , food and programme , lost 5-1!

Apparently, this game was citied as someone's 'enjoyment' yesterday, when I questioned playing in this league ( albeit a cup game)!
  • Bradford away in 2002 I think. would have cost me something like £200 (we stayed up there and went out Saturday night), but that went up to over £600, after I hit someone on the M1, so had to pay my excess and to hire a car. If you include going back to luton a week later to retrieve my car then probably closer to £650
  • Knocked me pipe out at Wycombe last year. The booze and match tickets was one thing, the £40 a pop "Tina's" and the cab home from Maidenhead was a bit ott even for me.
  • Must be the friendly in antwerp against germinal beershot for me 300 quid for a friendly lol
  • FC Tervarit - Oulu in Finland.

    Flight to Stockholm.
Night on the beer in Stockholm.
    Overnight "party" ferry to Helsinki.
Night on the beer in Helsinki.
    Flight to Oulu.
Allday and night on the beer via the match.
    Flight to Helsinki.
    Overnight "party" ferry to Stockholm.
Night on the beer in Stockholm.
    Flight to Stanstead.

    About £10.00 change from £1000.00

    Worth every penny.
  • always wondered how much i spend in one season on charlton, thinking about this season then:
    -season ticket
-11 away games (inc southampton and walsall)
    -11 train tickets for aways
    -home shirt
-train travel from essex every home game
    -food and drink

I reckon as i can still get away with the younger ticket types that ive spent about £700, hate to imagine what it would be when im older, but i know i'll still pay it.

you better hope your missus dont read this, thats a load of slags.
  • Valencia away for me.

The flights, the Hotel (Mrs KHA won't stay at a 4* Hotel) for two nights, and the spends while we were there.

It was good though and it was the only game I ever saw that finished the day after it started.
  • Colchester away last year
Came back from Italy buisness meeting earlier and with bad events over £1000 that day
went to all 9 games before didnt want to miss any that season at that point

    This.

Oh and £44 Chelsea at home (0-4)
  • The Sunderland playoff game. Booked my ticket after I knew we were there. Round trip from California. Left San Francisco on Friday. Arrived Heathrow Saturday morning. Game on Monday. Flew back on Tuesday. Sweetened by British Airways who upgraded me to 1st class on the way back when they saw the jesters hat and heard the story. Not sure of the cost but a pretty penny. Beat that. :-)

You got conned. A train from London to Coventry should cost peanuts especially on a weekend!
  • I try not to think about how much money I've spent following CAFC over the years and what I could have done it instead! That way lies madness...
  • Probably when I travelled back for Southampton (A) when I was living in Spain.

Easily £100 on the Ryanair, £25ish ticket, £25ish train, plus transfers to and from airports and train stations and god knows what on food and drink!

Worth it though... won 3-2 and practically sent them down with us!
