Hudds goalie out for 2 months

Bit of possible good news for us as they are 2nd.

Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Alex Smithies will have an operation on Wednesday for his damaged ligaments and could be out for up to two months.

The 20-year-old was replaced by Ian Bennett for Tuesday's 4-0 defeat at Carlisle, but manager Lee Clark will not look for a replacement

Comments

  • Ian Bennett is still a decent GK for this level, sure he played a few games earlier this season when Smithies was out.

    However, every little helps.
  • If Huddersfield don't go up surely Smithies will be off to a bigger club, interesting.
  • A bit more good news (straw clutching). Hudds now have a FA Cup distraction, along with Soton. Sheff W & Brighton are still in it as well.

    Arsenal v Huddersfield
    Southampton v Manchester United
    Sheffield Wednesday v Hereford
    Watford v Brighton
  • Wednesday and Brighton will fancy their chances of getting through so that will be yet another game or two for them.

Also will mean they will have to play an extra mid week game due to 5th round postponing a league game.
