Penalty Takers

edited November 2010 in General Charlton
With the Brentford and Luton games potentially being even after 90 and 120 minutes, the scenario of penalties being needed to decide the victors is a very probable one.
So, the five i would have most confidence in would be...

Jackson
Racon
Benson
Wagstaff
Francis

I reckon these would do the business, but is there anyone i've forgotten?

    Dailly will miss Luton.
  • im sure he took one v swindon and buried it might be wrong though?
  • Dailly took a great penalty in the play-off semi against Swindon, but I don't think he's back from the ban in time for the Luton game?

Benson apparently doesn't take penalties. The Doc has played a lot as a striker so maybe him.
  • im not to sure about francis could see him smashing 1 over the bar!!!
  • Did Abbott take the penalties at Oldham? He may not be on the pitch at the time, but if he is...

Racon and Francis would worry me taking penalties. Doherty's a good shout.
  • Mine would be:

    Jackson
    Reid
    Racon
    Doherty
    And maybe Waggy

with Marting and Racon, I just feel they're two players with a lot of finesse about their play, and so I wouldn't be surpised for them to neatly tuck one away, though there is always the possibility of them over doing it. Francis and Jackson are our set-piece takers, and Doc has played a lot as a striker, so he knows about keeping composed.
  • Racon bottled being in the five for Swindon though if I recall correctly
  • Jackson's technique on penalties has done the job but carries more risk for me.
