Solicitors are like doctors. You get General Practitioners and you get those who specialise in a particular area(s) of law.

My advice is to check out a few webstes to see if the firm has expertise in the area of law that you require.

If you are buying and or selling a property I can recommend a firm of licensed conveyancers.

Badger, not wishing to be nosy, but what kind of representation do you need? After all, there's no point recommending people that specialise in wills or conveyancy if you need a company or criminal lawyer.

Go to the Law Society website and ask them - don't mess about with yellow pages.

Mind you don't we have a couple of briefs on here.

I use Woolsey, Morris and Kennedy in Sidcup (that's a small rural backwater in Kent I'm led to believe) but as others have said depends on what you want it for.

I use them too Henry. Very switched on and professional. Unlike some I've used previously...

Ahem. As a member of this fine profession I may be able to point you in the right direction. Badger - if you send me a whisper (or whatever the technical term is) about what the issue is I might be able to help.

    what like bromley?

Bromley is a delightful, residential suburb with fine school, retail and cultural provision.

Bromley also is home to the finest Vet's team in all of the South East. They play at Kent County Cricket Ground each Sunday morning.

I have mates who live in bromley and shortlands, very nice area for drinking and poker nights. 1000 times better than my LB Greenwich Hovel.

Bromley was good enough for Jimmy Seed and Lennie Lawrence so it's good enough for me.
