    Spring - 4

  • Elliot - 4 - Poor. Bad judgement and no calling. Dreadful decision making
Richardson - 5 - Slow and cumbersome at the back, better going forward
Youga - 6 - Pacy, good challenges, but Frisbee beat him in the air almost every time
Llera - 3 - Utterly dreadful. I've said all season he is an accident waiting to happen.
Dailly - 6 - Not culpable for any of the goals and our best defender
Bailey - 5 - Average. Clearly playing with a knock
Shelvey - 6 - Not bad - much better in second half after dropping into midfield
Racon - 6 - Misses Semedo so much. Half the player without him in the side, but put a shift in
Sam - 5 - Quiet. Marked out of the game until the last 15 minutes, by which time it was all over
    Spring - 4 - Utterly anonymous.
Burton - 6 - Lots of work, thankless task against their number 4, who had him under manners all night

McLeod - 6 - reasonably lively when he came on, but had no support and wasn't able to fashion anything other than one half chance
Sodje - 6 - Won more headers in the first five minutes on the pitch than Llera did all game
  • Elliot - 4. At fault for the first and made several wrong decisions.

Richardson - 7. Our best player on the night - looked dangerous going forward.

Youga - 5. Beaten on at least 3 occaisions and some poor passong.

Llera - 3. Awful performance. All his headed clearances went to Colchester players. The centre forward gave him a torrid time. Muscled out on several occaisions.

Dailly - 6. Consistant and fairly solid.

Bailey - 6. Better, but what has happened to his tenacious tackling?

Shelvey - 5. The lad is so much better than this. He must learn to control his temper, or he will get sent off. Gem of a curling shot near the end, which he was unlucky with.

Racon - 6. Didn't do much wrong, but doesn't seem as solid without Jose around him.

Sam - 6. Yet again our most dangerous player. Why the hell wasn't he given the ball more.

Spring - 4. Hurry up and get better Jose. Anonymous throughout the game and should have gone off at half time for McLoed. Parky left the change too late.

Burton - 6. Works his socks off. why the hell do we insist on playing the ball in the air to Deon, when our real class shows when keeping it on the ground with quick passing and movement giving Deon the chance to nip in.

Special mention to Sam Sodje. Looked different class for his cameo roll. Had the same centre forward, who was murdering Llera, in his pocket from the moment he came on.

3,000 Charlton fans - quiet as a mouse, my self included.

    Shelvey - 5

  • [cite]Posted By: Addickted[/cite] why the hell do we insist on playing the ball in the air to Deon, when our real class shows when keeping it on the ground with quick passing and movement giving Deon the chance to nip in.

Good question. This aerial nonsense was especially noticable last night with their defence towering above him.
  • Elliot - 3 at fault for 2 of the goals
Richardson - 6 one of our better players on the night
Youga - 4 didn't help Llera out at all though obvious his team-mate was having a mare
Llera - 2 horrific - has been a disaster waiting to happen - last night it happened
Dailly - 5 okay amongst the carnage
Bailey - 6 should have been moved into the centre - unable to help out if he's stuck out on the left
Shelvey - 5 kept quiet by them
    Racon - 5 ditto Shelvey
Sam - 4 very poor - didn't impose himself at all
Spring - 4 anonymous - offered no protection or assistance to Llera - we may have well have played with 10 men
Burton - 5 no chance if we just lump high balls when he's being marked by a very big powerful centre-half
  • Elliot - 4 - Poor. Looked unsettled, not commanding enough, needs to get confidence back quickly
Richardson - 6 - Provided a quick outlet at times, good going forward
Youga - 5 - Lisbie gave him a hard night, got forward at times, but awful at the back and in the air
Llera - 3 - Off day is understatement, poor judgement, bad clearing headers, spent most of 1st half arguing with Youga
Dailly - 6 - Prob our best defender this eve but could really do much against 2 bulky forwards and Lisbie getting forward
Bailey - 5 - Got isolated, picked up a knock to his knee second half.
Shelvey - 5 - Quiet game, showed flashes but looking tired
Racon - 6 - Worked hard, doing half of the usual engine room work of Semedo
Sam - 5 - Most of our play went through him 1st half and it didnt work, why we didnt switch sooner, no idea
Spring - 4 - Sprayed ball about a bit, but didnt offer any real support for Racon or protection for back for
Burton - 5 - Didnt have a chance against a back four playing high up the pitch, without much support and against a huge CB

McLeod - 6 - Lively when he came on, looks like he wants it
Sodje - 6 - Won headers at both ends, promising

  • I'd love to give some player ratings.

    However, I can't really because,
    A) turned up late because our cab never arrived and when we eventually got one the fella couldn't find the ground,
    B) I was pissed,
    C) I left at half time
  • Elliot - 3
    Richardson - 6
    Youga - 5
    Llera - 1 (for turning up !)
    Dailly - 6
    Bailey - 5
    Shelvey - 4
    Racon - 4
    Sam - 4
    Spring - 3
    Burton - 5

subs - unfair to judge as they came on 3-0 down in a rubbish performance

Parky - 2 - subs should have been done at h/t, why wait till you are 3-0 down. If he can't play 4-5-1 he doesn't seem to have a clue.
  • Elliot - 5
    Richardson - 6
    Youga - 6
    Llera - 4
    Dailly - 6
    Bailey - 6
    Shelvey - 5

Number of cans of redbull - 4
    Miles travelled yesterday - 575
  • Elliot - 4. Sat behind the goal and didn't hear him communicate at all, also mistake for the third goal

Richardson - 7 Only one who actually did a decent job I thought, kept trying to run the wing.

Youga - 6. Couldn't get forward too much
Llera - 4. Terrible, although he did do a good bloke to prevent it being 3 nil inside the first half

    Dailly - 6. Okay

    Bailey -5 Ineffective

Shelvey - 5 Ineffective yet again, maybe we are asking too much of him?

    Racon - 5 Misses Semedo

Sam - 6 Him and Richardson do alright together

    Spring - 5 Didn't really do much

Burton - 5 Couldn't win the ball for the second game running

  • Elliot - 4
Richardson - 6 - tried hard but lacked quality
    Youga - 5
Llera - 2 - ive seen milk turn quicker.
    Dailly - 5
Bailey - 6 - first half he was the only player that looked like making something happen.
    Shelvey - 4
    Racon - 5
    Sam - 5
    Spring - 5
    Burton - 5
  • Elliot - 4 - Had a rare shocker, no communication and has to take some blame for the 1st and especially the 3rd goals.
Richardson - 7 - Best of a bad bunch, tried hard, looked a threat coming forward but little support from Sam.
Youga - 5 - Good coming forward but still a liability at the back
Llera - 0 - One of the worst performances ive ever seen in a Charlton shirt, truly awful, lucky to stay on as long as he did
Dailly - 6 - Looked solid, but thats probably because Llera was so bad it was making him look good
Bailey - 6 - Worked hard and tried to create but it didnt happen for him, also had little support around him
Shelvey - 5 - Another quiet game, lost possession a bit too much, thought he shoulde supported burton a bit more, maybe he needs a rest?
Racon - 5 - Some nice touches and passes as usual but not enough, not as influential as he should be
Sam - 4 - Full-back had him in his pocket, did absolutely nothing, Richardson was better coming forward
Spring - 5 - Didnt do much wrong, but also didnt do much right either, always looked for simple things, no creativity.
Burton - 4 - Worst game ive seen him have, posed no threat and won nothing all night, one to forget.

support 1800 of the quietest away fans anywhere
  • Elliot - 5, despite couple of blunders for goals did make a few good saves
Richardson - 6, one of our better players
Dailly - 6, could not be faulted for any goals
Llera- 3, shocking!!! defo should be dropped for sodje, first goal was part to blame, second totally his fault and doesnt seem to win any headers anymore! positional play is poor and is becoming a liability
Youga- 6, very average or bit below. tried to get forward but defensively not as strong
Bailey -6, did ok, altho think he should of been taken of when got injured. also final cross is lacking when getting in good position
Shelvey -5, not one of his better games tbf. didnt really control the game. did not do alot wrong but didnt really show that he was trying hard enough until the last minute
Racon - 5, got dominated, come into it second half when game was out of reach but missing semedo
Sam - 5, Didnt really show much, few good runs on the ball but didnt look dangerous maybe may need a games rest to get back into it
Spring - 5. couldnt really Fault his effort but didnt get hold of the ball or try to dictate play in the way of semedo does
Burton - 5, very poor could not hold up the ball. had few chances which should of put away at least a couple, think maybe time to give him rest or put someone up front with him

Mcleod- 6, showed that he wanted it more and was looking to make something happen. i think he deserves his chance now so put him in against leeds with deon preferably
Sodje- 7, thought he controlled the back four when come one. didnt lose a header(take note Llera), defo should start against Leeds!!

All in all poor performance from the boys, completely out-muscled by opponents and didnt seem to want as much as them either! we look like we think we are going to walk each game, so need to change mentality and start out working our opponents if we want to get back to winning ways.

Parky- 4, im not one of his haters but feel he should take part of the blame. firstly if the players dont look up for it then surely the manager should sort this out. Also subs i think were far to late when game was already over, llera should have been of half time, also mcleod should have come on as clearly wasnt working and should have gone for it with nothing to lose at 2-nil but instead chose to wait too long! still think he is the right man for the job(unlike the lady infront of me) but think he needs to get the boys playing to win every ball and to put more effort in
  • haha cant wait for llera's average on this one, two fours a high and several lower think could be around 2.75. maybe they will get the picture and he needs to be dropped, started of season ok but since his knock has forgot how to header and how to defend

Maybe a bit over generous with some but I'm in a good mood and I've a pint waiting in the pub for me.

7 to the lovely friendly Colchester fans we chatted to in the que for the bus back to the station.
  • Elliot - 4 can't afford too many more performances like that if he is to play in a promotion winning team. No good throwing your arms around when the goals have gone in, would be better advised to improve his communication skills.
Richardson - 7 can't fault Frazer as he gave it his all.
Youga - 6.5 thought he looked a real threat going forward again, but lost his way a little as the team folded.
Llera - 1 had to give him a point for at least showing his frustration with his own performance when he was substituted. Cost us last night as his mistakes put us in a near hopeless position.
Dailly - 6 did ok but looks like he would prefer a different partner in central defense. The encouragement for your fellow team members was missing, but perhaps that was a lost cause ?
Bailey - 6.5 looked like he cared and was still trying to make things happen second half. Created problems for them early doors.
Shelvey - 5 we have not seen much in the past couple of games that is different to the norm in this division, perhaps we expect too much.
Racon - 5 one of his under par performances and like Shelvey needs to boss things on a more consistent basis, if we are to be serious challengers this season.
Sam - 5 hot and cold ? last night he was cold.
Spring - 2 didn't offer enough to warrant his place last night. Won the ball very little and when in possesion he just doesn't look a threat or appear to have anything that will open up the oppo.
Burton - 3 no threat at all. Not sure if he'll work better in a two, but we are just not a big enough threat up front.

Parky 5 - he can't legislate for the type of errors that got us into trouble last night, but he may need to change things quicker if we are to get back into games when it does. He must have seen that we are exposed to certain styles of play. One of the best ways to combat this is to be more attacking focused (as Colchester were 2 big lads up front with Lisbie sniffing around all night long picking up the pieces) which means he has to have players in the final third who can put real pressure on the back four ................. we didn't see enough of that type last night !
