Apollo 11 moon landing in a football context...

Even if the moon landings weren't faked (which they were), look how unimpressive the Apollo 11 moonwalk actually was. This is an official NASA image showing the landing to exact scale in relation to a standard-sized 'soccer' pitch. Aldrin didn't even make it out of his own half, and Armstrong just managed the edge of the oposition penalty area before turning back. Rubbish! Who was coaching them, Parkinson?

  • As someone else said last night, The Americans put a flag on the moon, if the british got there they'd put up a warning sign:
    Danger: Uneven Surface".
  • Like the East Stand, no atmosphere.
  • Contrary to common belief, space is not a pure vacuum and is in fact extremely rarefied constitute of hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and tiny bits of dust left over from the big bang.

So the structure of space resembles Alan Pardew's defensive strategy.
  • Grey and lifeless, sounds like parky's dazzling media personality.
  • Up like a rocket, down like a stick. Charlton Athletic 1998-2009.
  • Is there a ' google moon' equivalent of google earth anywhere on the internet ?
Is it possible to see a picture of the moon landing site as it is today ?
There isn't a moon equivalent to google earth, probably because it would be a bit boring. The moon pretty much looks the same all over. You can train a powerful telescope on the moon but apparently, it isn't possible to see any of the hardware on the surface as it's all too small.

  • But you will never see 'the dark side' of the moon because of the moons proximity to the earth. Its day is as long as its orbit around the earth and therefore you only see one side of the moon. Sorry, I should get some sleep...

Also because the interesting low level pics on Google Earth don't come from satellites (despite the hype, their lenses just aren't that powerful) they come from pictures taken by aeroplanes.
