    Actually sounds like a better format. All the teams get six mini league games then a sensible four knock out rounds before the final. 15 games at most.

    So what happens to the slot if that club has qualified for the champs league? does it go to the next league placing?

    Sure it will. Top 7 becomes 8, very handy for those Arabs. Let them all bugger off to a European League and leave the rest of us to get on with it.

    if only they'd had stopped losing cup finalists taking a place a few years earlier, then Curbs could have led us into Europe.
