Maybe a french stick or sourdough, perhaps a bit of ciabatta?

yeah very nice.. if you have too many slices the crust can hurt the top of your mouth

a proper french baguette takes some beating non of this crud you get in Tesco's etc.
or a good fresh sourdough, or a walnut bread...

any fresh non machine made bread with seeds and granary is good too....

That's the best thing about France - you get some proper bread.

That tiger bread is great, the only problem is its quite flat so its hard to cut out a decent size sarnie !!
