My son went to the free gig on Sunday - highlight at the end was a version of White Riot with Damon Albarn, Babyshambles, John McClure (Rev and the Makers) and Jimmy Pursey on lead vocals.
Brought back memories as I was at the first free gig at Victoria Park in 1978, with Tom Robinson Band, Steel Pulse, and The Clash headlining - which culminated with Jimmy Pursey coming on stage for White Riot!
Apparently Jerry Dammers and Damon Albarn did a superb version of Ghost Town.

So the music of my youth is now oldies and TV ads backing music.
Billy Bragg was there as well. There's a picture of him in the crowd in his biog the Progresive Patriot
