I guess many of my fellow Down Under Addicks were looking forward to seeing the boys on Fox Sports this season? You know, regular live games, weekly highlights and all that? Not going to happen.

Those f====n a======s at Setanta Sports have bought the Football League rights so if you want to watch any CAFC action then you are going to have to pony up A$15.99 per month.

I am seriously pissed off that Fox Sports did not retain the FL rights, they have more money than God and they let these upstarts from Setanta (Lord only knows how they stay in business anyway) outbid them for the Football League.

Anyway, even though I am ropeable (I already pay A$130 per month for Foxtel) I am going to have to pony up the dosh for Setanta as my two boys are desperate to see some live CAFC games and Setanta are showing both the away game at Forest and the home match with Palace in the coming weeks.

Obviously it's a personal choice and you won't be called a scab if you buy anything but the less money we give them the better. They've already received too much from us.

Nottingham Forest v Charlton Athletic is live on Saturday, 9pm on GMM Sport One.

I doubt if it'll be shown in too many bars (probably none!) so you need, or need to know someone with a GMMZ box that has access to this channel. I have a box but as yet cannot get the channel. Maybe some pleading with the company today!

Rogers have lost the rights to the Championship & just about every other league except the Premier League. It is now broadcast in North America on BeIn sports - Qatari based company - in the USonly :(

The game is on from 1:35am on Friday night/Saturday morning.

Not only is it in GMMZ Sport One but it's also on terrestrial TV, MCOT Channel Nine. Not sure what commentary we'll get!

Astro Supersport are showing Ausburg v Wolfsburg instead of our game but it will be shown in full at 9:10am (8:10am Thai time).

So, as I have Astro as well as Thai TV, I can choose either option. What a choice!

Hey everyone,
first time posting, but I have been reading for board for awhile now, I am going to the Charlton v Hartlepool game on the last day of the season, although I have been to the Valley a few times, the 5 people I am going with have never gone. Basically I am looking for a good pub to go to before the game thats near the stadium, the more Charlton supporters the better. Also if there is a good place nearby to get some fish n chips that anyone knows of that would be great.

This result would fare better for the English compared to the 1950 result when USA shocked the world with a 1-0 win over tourney favorites England. Dont be surprised with a draw on the opening match. Anything can happen when 2 quality sides meet on the greatest stage of football on the first group game of the tournament!

News reaches me, via a visit from a great friend who is rather TOO familiar with the inner workings of the Thai Penal system, that the Bangkok Prisons are holding a world cup football competition.
There are, so I hear, more foreigners in Bangkok gaols than locals, who tend to be sent to the ones nearest their families.
Red hot favourites are England, with Thailand Germany Italy also in the running.
Australia and New Zealand have teams as do South Africa and a combined African team.
Cambodia dont have the stamina, Laos arent woth the shirts they wear and the French are arguing whether to participate.
Could be a cracking tournament this year with betting going wild.
Of course we see the last of some of the hard men of Thai prison football as, after 8 years, you are re-patriated to serve the remainder of your sentence in your home country.

Anyone wishing an update let me know

Sinch ISC died little have been done to encourage the supporters over the world to feel like we are a part of the family. On Saturday there will be focus on Internatinoal supporters, the Oldham game. Not a big event bout you have to start somewhere. We hope this will live on so this event can be done twice a year. Once in October and once around Christmas. For taking part of Saturdays event contact the ticket office/commercial center. what follows is what you can buy in a package. Since there's lack of time not many may have the possibility to show up but I hope the word spreads so there can be more of us meeting up next October (or this Christmas).

We have 3 ST holders all from the same city (including me) and an Englishman living in Holland, who also has a season ticket.
And I believe there is another guy who has a ST, but I don't know him. Furthermore I know of a group of people who occasionally visit matches at the Valley.
